Democrat Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants Americans to pay more taxes, even though she hasn’t paid her own back taxes from 2012.
A book company AOC founded in 2012 to publish children’s books in the Bronx still owes New York State over $1,870 in corporate taxes, according to public records uncovered by the New York Post.
The state dissolved her company, Brook Avenue Press, in October 2016, presumably due to its failure to pay corporate taxes or file a tax return.
In typical socialist fashion, Ocasio-Cortez’s little "book-publishing company" got cheap office space as part of a city-subsidized program.
However, there are no records of Brook Avenue Press ever having published a single book.
Ocasio-Cortez ignored a July 2017 tax warrant from the state demanding payment of her delinquent taxes.

I don't believe it is. What is a felony is tax fraud, where a deliberately false report of income and tax calculation is made.
Nevertheless, owing the Federal or (in this case) state money is problematic, depending on how determined they are to collect. For a couple of thousand, the state might just be content to keep adding on interest and sending a bill.
Ask yourself, how long has Al Sharpton stretched out his tax payments, where a larger amount is concerned? And, there's always the "some animals are more equal than others" issue to be considered.

I’m surprised this negative story about Ocasio-Cortez is in the news. Ditto the controversies over her campaign finances, and issues with her boyfriend having been paid from campaign funds improperly. How is it that negative news stories about her are suddenly appearing?
She’s a crook, like all democraps. When she worked as a professional bottle top opener - which apparently qualifies one for Congress - she would steal hundreds of dollars in tips from the waiters. If she is so brazen to do that, steal from co-workers then what is she doing when it comes to taxes? Or worse, tax payer money and campaign money? She’s stealing it which these stories are coming out that she diverted campaign money. But of course nothing will happen because she’s a democrap and the RINO party is too busy hiding under their desk in a fetal position sucking their thumb.

How did AOC’s company owe almost $2000 in taxes when the publishing company did not publish a single book. Did people have to pay her company to have their books looked at? Maybe all of its income came from taxpayer funded government “programs.”

Bet she’s got nothing on ones like Al Gore, Oprah Winfrey, Bill and Hillary, and other wealthy Dems who likely keep most (if not all) of their wealth outside the United States to avoid taxes that they have others pay.

True - it’s a “relatively” trivial amount. But the state dissolved her corporation - HER CORPORATION - for failure to pay that small amount.
What other scams has she perpetuated? Why can she pay her stooges a “living wage” but not pay back the trivial amount to the state (which uses those taxes to pay for social services).
