On the whole, machines replacing human labor has been a gigantic win for humans. We went from subsistence farming to a technological society.

Everything the left wants to do is establish a dysfunctional command economy.

First, a $15/hr wage floor. This cuts every job that can't be justified at $15/hr out of the economy, even if there are people willing to do that job.

Second, Bring in millions of illegals who have no job skills, most of whom are not worth $15/hr. They can only work on a black market economy.

Finally we have taxing robots. Companies that can get more productivity out of a robot than a human at $15 an hour can now expect a tax to make the robots unaffordable.

This will stop innovation, and other countries that don't have commend economies will progress past us.

Maybe she thinks we’ll all buy a robot. It will work and you cash the check. It’ll be like owning a car that drives itself for Uber and brings you the money. Folks she is certifiably crazy. Somebody is supporting her and giving her pages of what to say and money. I hope this is true, otherwise, this is what a college degree gets you. It also means parts of NYC are this dumb.

Yes, but listen to whom she’s quoting; Bill Gates. Is Bill that stupid, too?

Not ALL on her own. She’s quoting Bill Gates. When did HE lose his marbles?

It’s worse than we think. She’s quoting Bill Gates. “The freshman congresswoman floated a proposal by billionaire and Microsoft founder Bill Gates to tax robots at 90 percent to make up workers’ lost income from automation.”

“...tax robots at 90 percent...”
-
90 percent of ‘what’?

Robots are born with a silver spoon in their collective mouths and, are therefore privileged deserving a 90% tax rate on their inherited wealth. This frees up time for humans to make and watch porn which robots won’t watch using money confiscated by taxation from downtrodden wealthy worker robots, therefore ensuing privacy. See? Anyone can makeup fiscal or societal nonsense: Gates, Actress On Call, or me.

Do these people have any idea how much technical support robots need on a production line? Between the program changes, grade changes, program edits, etc....its a full time job at $40 per hour!

How about we automate the legislative branch? Let em all stay in their districts and Skype.

“...more time to pursue their creative passions”

The same argument pecker puss Pelosi used to justify Obamacare. People would no longer be tied to a job for health insurance and free to pursue their dreams.

How did that work out? Health insurance costs sky rocketed as workers were forced to subsidize non workers.

Taxing robots would create an idle class of non workers subsidized by the government.

AOC wasn’t kidding when she said that the NGD will subsidize those who are unwilling to work.

AOC: (......because it will afford them more time to pursue their creative passions.....)

You know what’s frightening about this statement? Pelosi said almost verbatim the same thing when she was trying to shove 0bammy Crap Care down our throats.

The SXSW festival is a big time gathering for your insane libs and commies. From the speakers to the partiers. Every rat party candidate comes here, says a bunch of insane things, and the snowflake crowd cheers. Even stupid John Kasich panders to the commie crowd.

time to pursue their creative passions

"No sh*t!"

Becoming a human pet is all great fun until your owner runs into financial difficulty. Typically stressed owners drop their pets off at the pound where the pets have a 90% chance of being "put to sleep", or more typically set them loose on the side of the road then drive off.

introducing more robots into the workforce could allow society more time to dabble in art and science

I've been to some craft fairs, and I can tell you, judging from what I see there, the LAST thing we need is more mediocre talents selling crap to gather dust on my shelves. And you don't just dabble in science. Dabbling in science is how you end up with Climate Change Cultists.

“How about we replace her with a robot”

At some point in time government will be run by computers making decisions. It seems inevitable. My question is will this computer controlled society (there can only be one) be a Constitutional Republic or will it be a dictatorship that is Socialist/Communist/Marxist in nature?

I’m betting it will constitute Marxist computers even if the computers are self-programming they will be Marxist because Marxism is a robotic insult to the very nature and being of humans and The Human Experience.
