Often the worst situation brings out the best in people..
CNN has that effect on me.
Yes, it IS CNN’s “reporting style”: “Indian (native American, dark-skinned, people of color”) = “good”, “Charitable”, “kind”, loving” helping victims of global warming climate violence (caused by evil white rich men’s culture)”.....
“Charitable people of color” helping “racist white small-pox-blanket-carrying evil Trump voters.”
(No, I am not exaggerating, am I?)
“Now I’m certain some of y’all will have something bad to say about the Creeks...”
Yep, yep, most of us get out of bed every morning gnashing our teeth about those damned red men.
Maybe you should get a life?
Or we could call them indians as they self describe (3rd paragraph, Poarch Band of Creek Indians tribe)
I don’t know any Creeks. I do know 3 of the local tribes pretty well. The two that are modernized but stayed separately “indian” are for the most part pretty good if politically confused folks. The third tribe have adopted another minority culture and are with few exceptions total $4!+birds.
All 3 have casinos but the ones most likely to do something like this are the 3rd group and would only be doing it as a form of offensive and crass marketing.
Its a valid concern for those of us who don’t know Creeks to question motivation.
Better yet, how about Injuns?
G-d bless the Creeks!
No, because that is not what Columbus named them.
I do have a life. Part of it rests in research. And my research turns up a lot of bigotry in Free Republic. The dogs that yelp are the ones that get hit.
“The dogs that yelp are the ones that get hit.”
That is strange, considering I have never heard of that particular Indian tribe in particular, and may have a thought of an Indian about once a year.
I got hit to the extent that I am up to the gills with prissy people like you virtue signaling, trying to always sniff out sin in other people.
Researching bigotry on Free Republic?
You just can’t read a statement and detect if it is bigotry without researching it?
You can always take your sensitive ass to some other site.
