At least 70 percent of HCL’s U.S. workforce is South Asian, mostly from India, while South Asians make up 1 percent to 2 percent of the U.S. population and about 12 percent of the U.S. IT industry, the suit claimed.

The H-1B program needs to go. Now the wives of H-1B visa holders are suing us because Trump has revoked their work visas. Don't like it here go home.

Yep. Not much diversity in that company, and Americans being pushed out of jobs. Even American temporary workers get pushed out. It’s bs.

No reason to have H-1b program at all. Americans will do those jobs.

When I first moved to SV, the SJMN was THE source for what was happening in technology.
Now it is just part of the propaganda wing of the DNC.
This has been going on since the 90’s and just now they discovered it?

There are lots of folks right here on FR that support importing this labor.

Anti-American scumbags that hate America.

I stopped giving Indian recruiters my resume after I started getting calls on my cell phone looking for a guy whose last name is Patel.

Seems a recruiting company had replaced MY name with his, my email with his but had gotten sloppy with the contact information and left my phone number on it.

The target company was very interested in an Indian Marine who fought in the Persian Gulf War and was now an Information Security contractor.

There might be a few times where the H-1B visa is needed but the program needs to be heavily re-organized.

I suggest that:

A employer must show that the position has been open for a minimum of 1 year, that they have been actively looking for individuals to fill the position, and that they have not laid-off or fired (unless it is for cause such as criminal behavior) any similarly qualified employee anywhere in the company for a minimum of two years.

The approach to enforcement must recognize that using the H-1B visa is a privilege and it is the responsibility of the employer to show they have met both the letter of the law and the intent of the law.

Any employer found to violated the rules will lose the visa immediately and, be fined a minimum of five times the one year salary of the laid off employee or ten times the salary of the employee on the H-1B visa, whichever is larger.

The employer will be ineligible for another H-1B visa for a minimum of 10 years.

What do you think?

There is no governmental entity that will enforce and immigration rules and laws. Just give me one example where it has?

Trusting the corrupt government is how we got here.

Oh I agree with you 100%
I finally got tired of being stabbed in the back during review time and began contracting chip design.

H1b companies constantly call me offering me $35/hr to do what I do.
They then go to the US Gov and claim they can’t find American workers who want to work for current wages.

Its a scam and its been going on since the 90’s
The only people who don’t know this is the GOP-e.

Unfortunately, you’re right. The chances of even part of that being enforced are about zero.
