Washington (AFP) - US authorities created a secret database of journalists and activists linked to a caravan of Central Americans who tried to enter the US last year from Mexico, NBC reported.

In some cases authorities flagged their passports for alerts, said the San Diego, California affiliate of NBC.

It cited documents leaked to it by a source in the Department of Homeland Security who requested not to be named.

It said these documents list people who officials thought should be screened at the US-Mexico border. They included 10 journalists, seven of them US citizens, an American lawyer and 47 people from the United States and other countries who were labelled as organizers, instigators or with "unknown" roles...

It's OK to track traitors and saboteurs. Not a problem.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but if a US citizen attempts to make a crossing at a non-crossing non-entry point, it’s an illegal act. I suspect that was the game of the journalists in this case, ultimately accompanying the migrants to the border, and illegally crossing with them.

“Secret? Obviously not!”
..........
They use this as cover for James Clapper and 0bammy. They’ve both been in the news this week about secret taping of folks.

The media is shrewd. Because now they can say, see Trump did it too.

I think it was to collect real time data (reports and photos, especially photos) that could be used against President Trump in the ongoing psyops of trying to steal our nation from us.

And the most insidious of all

AFP and Yahoo: a couple of the most corrupt of the MSM.

CNN and MSNBC may be the face of the lies but these guys deliver it to the talking heads. And it's always purposefully twisted.

This is no different than the way the IRS was used to persecute conservatives. If you legitimate using gov’t to harass your political opponents, you are going to be on the receiving end of it the next time dems control the executive branch.

A database how scary. Basically if you type a list into a computer and do a sort you have a database. I once made a database of my comic book collection. Ocasio cortez said she would make a list. I guess that is not a database unless she does a sort on it. But that is not a threat to democracy or anything. No.

Go back to CNN or whatever hole you crawled out of you absolutely disgusting sanctimonious troll. If you think there is no difference with targeting those involved legitimate political engagement and those actively involved in crimes, there is no hope for you. You are the personification of the stupid Republicans that have taken joy for some meaningless virtue signaling.
