The root of this problem was when medical “insurance” became part of employment in WW2 due to wage controls imposed by the feds.

Democrats always shoot for the moon, then accept a step in that direction. Republicans always shoot themselves in the foot, then shoot the other foot because they don’t want to play favorites.

If you think it’s expensive now, just wait until it’s ‘free.’

The left keeps bringing up ROI. The return on “investment” is negative. There is no positive ROI. There is just the staggering cost of $32T over 10 years or so.

Maybe President Trump should just sign an Executive Order Mandating ALL Members of Congress and All Members of the Judiciary use the Veterans Administration as their Primary Health Care Provider, then they can tell us all how great it is NEXT YEAR!!

You can get a Medicare Advantage plan. It isn’t exactly free. Straight Mediacare is not good for seeing specialists.

...which, ironically, was first championed by...Kaiser, who built lots of military equipment during the war.

Henry Kaiser was an interesting guy.

Any move towards further federalization of healthcare would be a disaster. Providers would face big cuts; that always happens with government programs. Right now, most independent providers don’t take Medicaid and many don’t take 0-care.

Many hospitals and providers would stop accepting govenment plans forcing patients into overcrowded hospitals and clinics that would ration care. If providers are forced to take govenment plans as a requirement to practice medicine or run a hospital, many would quit/go OOB.
