A major power outage hit crisis-stricken Venezuela on Thursday, according to Reuters witnesses, a problem the government of President Nicolas Maduro quickly blamed on "sabotage" at a hydroelectric dam that provides much of the country's power. Electricity outages are frequent in Venezuela, where the economy is collapsing under hyperinflation, with chronic shortages of food and medicine and a mass emigration of more than 3 million citizens. Critics say corruption and under investment have left the country's power grid unable to function, while Maduro says the problems are intentionally created by political adversaries.

I guess the nut Maduro has blamed Trump by now, right.

I actually find it suspicious that Pompeo already ruled out the US and a bunch of other countries as having done it, saying it was Venezuela’s own fault. Had he not declared such absolute knowledge I actually would have wondered if there were a chance it was simply Maduro’s incompetence.
Pretty clear now IMO it wasn’t.
Very true. I do miss seeing the Milky Way at night.
They are near the last stage of Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged”.
The people who know how to keep a technological civilization have left, because other places could use their skills, and actually pay them real money for their work. Meanwhile, Maduro’s cronies have no idea how to do things like keep dams and generators maintained.
It was Snowball!
Remember when Obama and the media told us the economy was strong and the world had never been more at peace? The socialist successes are always fabricated and failures are blamed on counter revolutionaries. And questioning these lies is very, very dangerous. Welcome to the Orwellian utopia.
As an old Italian told me once, The trains didnt actually run on time it just became very unhealthy to notice.
It’s their Green New Deal.
When desperate unarmed civilians are being brutalized by their government there are few courses of action open to them. Sabotage is one such avenue.
An advanced technological society works as long as everyone agrees to get along and not throw sand into the gears. When it reaches the point the civilians feel the need to rebel there are many “gears” open and unguarded that can be sabotage with little effort (and little chance of getting caught).
This is most effective in a country that is already on the brink of failure as they have few resources to repair or replace damaged resources.
You don’t have to kill people to bring about the downfall of a government, just destroy their means to govern.
We may be seeing the beginning of that today.
Trump’s fault!!!
Mayor De Blasio should take notice. His city could be burned in the dark with no water pressure on the fire hydrants
“You dont have to kill people to bring about the downfall of a government, just destroy their means to govern.”
Yep... Just cut resources and communications, the logistics will fall apart without these.
I’ll bet maduro’s mansion isn’t being lit by candles.
