My daughter’s friend was raped by a high school coach. She was too afraid to report it to anyone. Years later she finally told her parents. It was too late to do anything about it.

I’ve wondered how many girls he raped over the years.

That tracks with what I know of the two women who were raped in high school. Neither thought they would be believed, both felt they were somehow to blame. 35 years later they realize they might have been wrong and beat themselves up over the fact that they might have been able to prevent it happening to someone else. I offered to do whatever she wanted to the perp for one of them (good thing she had more sense than me)...

I can see the point of a young girl being afraid to talk about something like rape. However, you don’t get to be a combat pilot being a squish. Ego and self esteem is very real with those folks. Fighters fight it’s hard to just accept her story.

So was my wife when she was small!

However my wife never brought it up publicly as a means to advance her career ! This woman has now done it twice.

“It was too late to do anything about it”

Really? Why?

If someone raped my daughter, it would rain rapist for weeks, no matter how long it had been.
