Yup. The old line black gangs like Crips and Bloods and Latino gangs like Latin Kings are up against the maniacs of MS 13 and the Mex cartels. The old timers are not prepared for the depraviyy ofbthe newcomers. The Salvadorans are vicious in a way the otgers have not been and tgey have been successful in Nassau and Suffolk so now they are engagingbtge NYPD. They have already put bounties on killing off duty NYPD officers and these guys make good. One difference with the 13s is that unlike the Black gangs who spend the daylight hours drinking 40s and smoking blunts, same with the Kings, the 13s actually have jobs. They may be your landscaper’s crew or your roofer’s. Other than their ink they don’t make a point of standing out and say Look at me. I expect the NYPD to get control for two reasons; first, they are good at this, second, unlike Long Island the City is not home to a large Salvadoran population and I expect the locals to abandon the snitchers get stiches code when the cops come seeking info on the 13s. But it will be a while.
