Sen. McSally, ex-Air Force pilot, says officer raped her

Sen. Martha McSally, the first female fighter pilot to fly in combat, said Wednesday that she was raped in the Air Force by a superior officer.

The Arizona Republican, a 26-year military veteran, made the disclosure at a Senate hearing on the armed services' efforts to prevent sexual assaults and improve the response when they occur.

McSally said she did not report being sexually assaulted because she did not trust the system, and she said she was ashamed and confused. McSally did not name the officer who she says raped her.

"I stayed silent for many years, but later in my career, as the military grappled with the scandals, and their wholly inadequate responses, I felt the need to let some people know I too was a survivor," she said,

What you say makes a lot of sense to me. (Of course, everything nowadays is about feelings, so logic doesn’t rank very high any more.)
Now, I remember hearing (on FR?) that McSally is a RINO, so maybe that is what we have here.
So while what allegedly happened to her is despicable, how is this much different than some of those Harvey Weinstein allegations?
This woman is saying that she endured (and contributed to the continuation of) a corrupt system BECAUSE SHE WANTED TO KEEP HER JOB.
I recognize that there are at least two sides to every story, but McSally has framed this thing in such a way as to make sure that her side is the only one that is heard. For all we know she was the instigator; or she did it for career advancement reasons, etc.
Damn! but is this a hint that she would have voted against Kavanaugh?

So Genghis Kahn and the rest of his men were a bunch of damaged weak men huh?

It's still a pussy move but rape as a terror tactic against the enemy is different than against a subordinate on your own team.

I really wanted to kill all the people that looked like the people that attacked me after my first fire fight. I have no doubt that if I was raised in the Mongol society or the Roman empire and served in their military I would have killed and raped along with the other ones.

Fine, but those acts are universally considered war crimes today because we expect our men to be strong enough to manage those urges.

UCMJ Article 89: Disrespect toward superior commissioned officer.

Article 90: Assaulting or willfully disobeying superior commissioned officer.

The term is still used in the military justice system.

"when she tried to talk about it to military officials, she "felt like the system was raping me all over again."

McSally said she did not report being raped because she did not trust the system, and she said she was ashamed and confused.

Here she is contradicting herself badly. You either reported it or you didn't, it can't be both. Another bandwagon idiot trying to gin up some sympathy before the election.

This woman is a complete idiot. She’s contradicting herself. First she says that she reported it to the military and felt like she was “being raped all over again”. Then later she says that she didn’t report it because she didn’t trust the system and she was scared and confused. She either reported it or she didn’t, and she’s claiming both. This lame-o has no business keeping her job.

Also, did you notice that she says she reported it to the military and “felt like I was being raped all over again.” Then later in the article, she says she never reported it because she didn’t trust the system, was scared, and confused. Day 1 and her story is already falling apart.

Yes, they do. If you're landing a have a brake failure, you drop the hook and catch the cable at the end of the runway.

Lol, the topic of what I posted was not rape.

The topic of the thread was.

You said we needed separation of the sexes because of men's uncontrollable urges.

At least have the balls to stand behind your comment.

Liberals, RINO’s and gutless conservative politicians can delude themselves till the cows come home but the sexual powers of women vs the barely controllable and many times “uncontrollable” testosterone induced impulses of men are not and never will be subject to control by words on paper aka “legislation”.
The only answer is “separation”. Meanwhile, we have 2 billion dollar ships running into each other because of the games politicians play.

***********************************************************

Ok Semi, I will try hard one more time. So, above is what I said.

To start, I’m one of those that KNOWS and believes “politics” RULES our military, particularly on the gender issue. Flag rank officers that should be leading and protecting our military from silly radical concepts from decade to decade have been hiding under their desks for decades and allowing “women” to become EQUAL, or considered and treated EQUAL, in COMMAND ROLES and it’s all in exchange for VOTES.

To place 2, 26 year old women in two KEY COMMAND ROLES on a 2 billion dollar warship (the Fitz) was a big mistake. No way I would want my 33 year old daughter with doctorate level degrees to be in COMMAND of 272 men, or thereabouts, on a US Warship in the Western Pacific, at night, in heavy ship traffic, on an under staffed ship, a tired crew, captains asleep, with WAR ready to break out any second. Neither would my daughter allow herself to be placed in this role.

Now, my daughter is brilliant and beautiful beyond belief but no MAN can really concentrate with her around particularly when being instantly ready to “fight the ship” and/or not running into ships and destroying a 2 billion dollar warship and killing my fellow sailors is whats at stake. Don’t tell me to “deal with it” either IN THAT NEAR COMBAT ENVIRONMENT. I refuse that BS for evermore! It’s a worn out feminazi placard!

In this instance, the unqualified female OOD killed fellow sailors asleep. Now, again, I know the feminazi crowd tells all us men to “just deal with it” (referring to women’s powers over men sexually (we could exchange books on that subject). Well, guess what, MEN (and women) are beginning to wake up and they are pushing back on the feminazis and the gutless politicians by saying “to hell with you, I don’t want to “deal with it” (i.e. hot women standing next to me all night) . All I want to deal with is trying my best to be instantly ready to fight this ship to the death if that becomes necessary. AND, “I don’t want your sexuality mixed up in this frightening enough situation on this “COMBAT WARSHIP” that’s in a very dangerous situation because it (your presence) is a very REAL distraction that I don’t need right now or want.

This poor young lady was found by the Captain laying in the corner and reportedly said to the Captain when he finally got to the bridge, while sobbing (according to a female journalist) “I fucked up Captain!

Effectively she killed 7 kids. BUT, in reality, our society and our media, killed them because THEY and gutless politicians put her in that role as determined by countless political debates in Congress over 40 years!!! All, in the end, FOR VOTES! And, make no mistake, in both damn parties!

So, If your argument is that Women should be in Combat positions and equal to and command absolutely vital and multi billion dollar ships at 26 years old you and I will NEVER agree.

Women HAVE served heroically in combat. But mostly on the edge of it like MASH units and trans shipping planes and countless other important and strategic positions. But, command roles IN COMBAT by very young women are just crazy. From your comments, I can see you will never agree.

And, YES, there was a long list of things on the Fitz to fix. But, having been on Navy Warships for many hours underway, there always is. In my day, 10 % of our crew were civilians...……….FIXING STUFF! An, Yes, the ship was undermanned seventeen people but they always are. These type things/excuses are normal for high up officers and particularly flag officers covering their ass!

The TRUTH is the ship was not under effective command at the moment of impact! AND, THAT is not the young female OOD’s total fault! I hope she somehow gets over this tragedy and gets on with her life along with the families of the deceased.

Nice chatting with you.

You seem to have two consistent themes in your post.

One is that men aren't capable of focusing and acting professionally in the presence of good looking women.

"Now, my daughter is brilliant and beautiful beyond belief but no MAN can really concentrate with her around particularly when being instantly ready to “fight the ship” and/or not running into ships and destroying a 2 billion dollar warship and killing my fellow sailors is whats at stake."

The second is that young women aren't capable of handling positions of responsibility on warships.

"To place 2, 26 year old women in two KEY COMMAND ROLES on a 2 billion dollar warship (the Fitz) was a big mistake."

Now these are both topics worthy of discussion, and you're probably right that we wouldn't entirely agree, but that's not where I think you went off the rails.

The thread was about the (alleged) rape of Martha McSally. You offered that separation was the only answer to "uncontrollable testosterone impulses of men".

I don't see that that notion supports either of your arguments, but it is a rationalization for rape.
