President Trump and Eric Trump fulfilled a terminally ill Connecticut man's dying wish with a phone call on Tuesday evening -- and all it took was a little help from the man's sister, an elected Democrat.
44-year-old Jay Barrett, of West Haven, who has cystic fibrosis, left a hospital to begin palliative care at his sister's home last weekend and asked for some sort of contact with the president before he dies.
His sister, West Haven City Councilwoman Bridgette Hoskie, who describes herself as "100 percent Democrat," went on social media to help make it happen. Friends and other supporters sent emails to the White House and its online petition system.

Trump is a good and genuine human being. Irrespective of his failings, he has a heart, and is a normal person.
Barry sent him a CD of his speeches.
And you know, you have to hand it to Barrett’s sister for securing her brother’s wish. She is 100% democrat, but it sounds like blood is thicker than politics. I wish that more democrats would...well you know.
Years ago, President-Elect Clinton was in Los Gatos partaking dinner in a restaurant in town will Silly-cone Execs. Wife and I went and stood outside with a whole host of others to catch a glimpse. He came out afterwards and did the line. Hey...it was a President...frankly, no matter what party, when one can meet a President, it is pretty cool. Met Bush Sr. too in Santa Cruz after the quake. I was a member of the local press in those days. Met the Second Lady too, in Watsonville.
44 is incredible for Cystic Fibrosis
A wicked wicked death sentence for children
Good for the president
Trump carries the weight of the world on his shoulders, and can take a moment like this to make one person feel like a million bucks.
I view Trump as an older brother figure.
I care about him. I know he’s doing the best he can. It makes me sad the hatred people have for him.
He’s only human, and he’s my brother in spirit. I am very proud of him.
I went to see Clinton speak once.
I knew what a terrible man he was, but I wanted to see him one time in person. I remember it vividly to this day.
What strikes me about men, is that they have the ability to be a better self for eight years. Bill couldn’t do it.
Trump on the other hand has risen to the occasion, and I am as sure as I can be that he is trying to play the role of president as best he can.
Melania is trying to do the same thing.
We are very fortunate, that during these trying times, we have a first family like these two and Barron, to represent us and our families.
I pray for Trump, Malania, and Barron. They each need our support, for the good of the nation.
I am very proud of Melania and Barren. I know there are a lot of pressures on each.
The president is hated with a passion. Look, I was disgusted with Obama over and over, but I never let it get to the point that I hated him like people hate Trump.
I never wanted something bad to happen to Obama. I didn’t not want the nation to go through another assassination.
The Left wants Trump dead. There’s just no other way to put it.
If only they could see themselves, and recognize in them what I do.
I hope Trump will be calling Jimmah Cotta soon.
Great story. I remember a few years back, Ina Garten from the Food Network denied a request from a little boy from Make-A-Wish who had a leukemia. He wanted to cook with her. She took a lot of heat for that.
President Trump is a great man.
Ummm...in case it slipped your notice, we all have failings. No human being ever born or who ever will be born was without failings. Even Jesus momentarily failed to believe in his Father.
Around the ninth hour, Jesus shouted in a loud voice, saying "Eli Eli lama sabachthani?" which is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" And at the ninth hour, Jesus shouted in a loud voice, "Eloi Eloi lama sabachthani?" ... It is the only saying that appears in more than one Gospel, and is a quote from Psalm 22:1
I don't believe the Lord "momentarily failed to believe in his Father." I believe Jesus was referencing the 22nd Psalm which, as you read it, almost perfectly predicts the scene at the cross. . .another interesting theory I heard was, in accordance with the Jewish tradition, the synagogue cantor would sing the first line of a Psalm to indicate to the congregates which Psalm the should then take up. Jesus was pointing to the 22nd Psalm to call attention to its meaning and relevance to his situation.
The Left wants Trump dead. Theres just no other way to put it.
See my tag line.

Truth be told, there are a multitude of stories like this about the president. He’s a little rough around the edges sometimes (which I happen to like), but he’s a good guy.
I could, by the way, say the same thing about George W. Bush. I worked for him from 2001 to 2003 and spoke with him on several occasions. Didn’t agree with a lot of his policies, but he’s a genuinely nice guy with a great sense of humor. I got to know some of the USSS guys on his detail and they loved him. When they went to his ranch in Crawford, Bush would prepare and serve dinner - usually a BBQ - to the people on his staff and detail to show his appreciation for their help.
While I believe Jesus could never “lose” His divine nature, because He is “the Word that was with God, and was God”, I also believe that as He was dying, He experienced the full horror of the alienation from God that man experienced in the Fall. Hence, His expression of grief over being “abandoned”.
Yet, at the moment He revealed that He was as “fully man” as He was “fully God”, He was fulfilling His Father’s will by offering His own body and blood as the “once for all “ sacrifice for sin that could allow man to survive being in the presence of God—without UTTERLY destruction!
When I consider this, I think of the song: “Oh what manner of love is this...”
This was a good ‘first read’ for me this morning. How easily my heart went out to the dying man AND to our wonderful President DJT. Truly we are a blessed Nation.
Perhaps so...or just as likely, He demonstrated that it’s ok for people to have weaknesses as long as they don’t lose faith and try to live a good life. But don’t lose sight of my actual point. I dislike when people couch their praise of President Trump with something like “he may be flawed, but.” Who isn’t flawed?
Yeah, that’s pretty much it.
