Qatar, which funds Hamas and al-Qaeda, has begun a massive military aircraft project in South Carolina
The politicians in South Carolina are lining their pockets, but are we enabling those who will one day be fighting against us?
South Carolina is becoming home to a quiet Qatari military aircraft project, by Jordan Schachtel, Conservative Review, March 5, 2019:
The nation of Qatar, a tiny Gulf state known for its vast energy riches, tiny indigenous population, slave labor economy, and, of course, its troublesome connections to international terrorist organizations, has commenced a massive but under-the-radar spending spree in South Carolina. Through Barzan Aeronautical, a subsidiary of the Qatar defense ministry-controlled Barzan Holdings, Doha has targeted South Carolina as the location for a major military aircraft initiative. The state is home to several Qatar-friendly politicians and defense industry heavyweights.
Senator Lindsey Graham has held several face-to-face meetings with high-ranking delegations from the $320 billion Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), which has pledged to invest billions into the state. Over the past couple of years, Graham has emerged as one of the major pro-Qatar voices in the Senate. He routinely takes to television and other media platforms to repudiate Qatars regional adversaries, while bolstering its allies.
The top donor to South Carolina Gov. Henry McMasters recent successful gubernatorial campaign is a major Qatari lobbyist. Between 2017 and 2018, Imaad Zuberi, a lobbyist who represents the ultra-wealthy QIA, shelled out over $50,000 for McMasters campaign, according to campaign finance reports. Zuberi told associatesthat his donations to Republicans were a way to pay for further access to politicians, according to The New York Times.
On the local level, the mayor of Charleston, which is home to a major Boeing plant, is also a friend to the Gulf state. He has signed a declaration of understanding to encourage economic development, cultural and environmental cooperation between Charleston and Doha, Qatars capital city, after meeting with Qatari investment officials, The Post and Courier reported.
Charleston is home to Boeings 787 Dreamliner assembly plant. Qatar recently spent over $11 billion to order 30 787s and 10 777s from Boeing. Moreover, the Qatari air force has a $6.2 billion contract with Boeing .
In interviews, Qatari officials have stressed that the one-year-old Barzan Holdings project is a top-priority project for advancing Qatars defense goals. In November, the ruler of Qatar himself paid a visit to the Barzan research and development center .
Using its huge energy resources turned to wealth to promise statewide development, Qatar has racked up tremendous diplomatic and financial capital with the influential politicians and defense companies of South Carolina, enough that the al Qaeda and Hamas-funding state is apparently set to build military surveillance aircraft inside the continental United States.
Charleston, SC & Doha, Qatar Sign Declaration of Understanding Doha and the city of Charleston, South Carolina, have signed of a declaration of understanding under which the two cities will promote economic and cultural relations.
The signing of the agreement took place during the official visit of Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani to Charleston in South Carolina. The aim of the visit was to enhance co-operation and common interests.
The agreement aims to explore new areas of economic development and new trade opportunities in both the public and private sectors, and support the exchange of experiences in planning, construction, health, education and environmental issues such as waste recycling and co-operation in greening and beautification as well as projects between the two cities, in addition to supporting exchanges of visits between officials and citizens to explore new areas of interest.
The declaration was signed by Qatar's Ambassador to the US Sheikh Meshal bin Hamad al-Thani and the Mayor of Charleston Mr. John Tecklenburg.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister said this week witnessed the launch of a historic strategic dialogue between the US and Qatar aimed at highlighting opportunities that benefit the people of both countries, which are at the heart of the long and solid relationship.
"Despite the thousands of miles between us, South Carolina shares many similarities with the State of Qatar, but more importantly, we invest in human capital and create jobs that will benefit the American and Qatari people, and this is what pushes the political and economical commitment that I am happy that I'm involved in strengthening it."
"As one of the oldest and most important ports on the east coast of the United States, Charleston has long cherished its international relations," said Tecklenburg. "With this declaration, we announce our intention to forge deeper and stronger relationships with the people of Doha-Qatar and we look forward to the future which our two cities will share," he added.
The Governor of South Carolina, Henry McMaster, hosted a dinner in honor of the delegation of the State of Qatar attended by a number of business and community leaders. Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani held a roundtable with a number of senior politicians and business leaders from the state to discuss ways to enhance co-operation.
The Minister also toured Boeing's facility in Charleston. During the tour, he was accompanied by CEO of Qatar Airways Group, Akbar al-Baker, and the CEO of Qatar Investment Authority Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohamed bin Saud al-Thani.
Prior to the visit, the State of Qatar and the United States of America held the Qatar-US Strategic Dialogue.
Just bring cash
We’ll roll over for anyone
Take their money but not their culture...
Some States have the best Government that money can buy./....
It is all about the Benjamins. Virtually every single Congress Critter is a corrupt sell out of our nation & people. They have a price and it’s being paid.
What the hell - let’s sell them the rope with which to hang us...
If we build the planes here, we will know them inside and out. Who knows, there may even be a little surprise or two in the software.
We HAVE the most CORRUPT government on the planet. We don’t call the corruption bribes though. That is too crass. We just call it CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS or “SUPPORT”.
Those DOHA Dollies, at it again.
These people will get the aircraft.
Will it be Russia or China currying favor with them, if we bow out?
I don’t honestly know what the answer is, in these situations.
Not only is this a potential threat to our forces later on, but I’m thinking Israel runs a tight race to be the number one target too.
We don’t live in a simply world any longer. Some of these situations mean your damned if you do and damned if you don’t.
We DO NOT want China having a major presence in the region.
Keeping Russia as thin in the area as possible, is also a good thing.
All we have to do is look back to the 60s and 70s in the region, to realize a foreign government was all too happy to help terrorists against us.
The PLO and other groups in the area, were more than willing to go after our tourists, or even the Olympic players in Olympic cities during that era.
If we have a dialogue with the people in the region, it’s probably best, even if there is risk involved.
We simply cannot pull our head in under our shell and pretend there isn’t a competition for global influence and power.
Charleston has a pretty sizeable gay and Jewish population, I say the mayor imports a few thousand Qatari’s to live among them. You know, all in the spirit of diversity and friendship. I loathe calling them, leaders. The elected officials in this country, save a few, are nothing but a bunch of whores who get rich off the taxpayer or through their positions in government.
Of course if South Carolina's politicians had not sold their soul to foreign interests, I guess us Sandlappers would still be chopping cotton and picking peaches.
Headline corrected:
Qatar, has Begun a Massive Military Surveillance Aircraft Project in South Carolina for Hamas and Al-Queda
overflights of American military installations to be used during testing stages ...
thanks
