A “resolution of disapproval” means as much as a “free” dinner to attend one of those timeshare sales pitches. Nothing.

There are not 67 votes to override a veto. Why is this a story?

“The GOP can’t govern.” A central Democrat talking point of 2020 and the GOP is serving it on a platter for them. How pathetic is that?

The President should write “resolutions of disapproval” about actions by Pelosi, Feinstein, Nadler, Sandy Cortez, John Roberts, Jay Powell... the list goes on and on.

The point is, none of them mean anything. But the MSM act as if this had some legal standing.

Huh. I guarantee you, when LBJ was SML this crap never happened. Not once. McConnell has immense power in the chamber and could take these prima donnas down if he wanted to. He just doesn’t give a sh*t.

ha!
imho, IF the country were in OK condition, then a GOP-e senate speaker could maybe be ok

but there’s so much repair work to get done, after 8 years of the enemy agent Occupying our White House...I wish we could find a good way to get better leadership out of McConnell.. he does a few good things but...not nearly enough

You go to their offices or outside their homes with a bunch of angry activists, the way leftists do, and believe me you will get their attention. It’s important to make their lives miserable when they stray from the reservation.

Remember the tea party days? We have to revive them. Unfortunately nowdays all we do is bitch, moan and type within our echo chamber and that’s it. That ain’t going to cut it in this war.

Yes, I remember the TEA Party days. Apparently, you don’t. Let me help you refresh your memory since it is a carbon copy of what is going on now inside the beltway.

Never Trumpism to the benefit of Hillary Criminal and her SCTOUS has proven the GOP prefers progressive Democrats to its voter base. Nothing we say/do we change that because the GOP has proven their are happy to campign for and elect Democrats. The GOP is corrupt at its core and unreformable. Sorry.

Of course why should they fear the base when we can’t even be bothered to make a phone call let alone set siege to their offices or homes.

Here’s how the other side keeps their politicians in line.

That's exactly right. I don't think McConnell cares. It is just an agenda item to him.

LBJ? I was thinking about him the other day. When LBJ was President he wheeled and dealed and twisted arms and got things done. LBJ knew how to cut deals.

McConnell doesn’t care because the GOP donor class doesn’t care. In fact they hate POTUS just as much as McConnell does. I’m sure they are quite happy to undermine POTUS as often as possible.

LOL. There you go again. The GOP has been openly colluding with the Mueller Coup for two full years. And before that assisted in disseminating the Hillary Hoax Dossier. The idea a few phone calls or rally is going to change that is a day dream. You seem to be forgetting the protest at Ryan’s home. I wonder why?

“The other side” Democrats are generally in agreement on policy. OTOH, The MAGA wing and progressive corportist wings of the GOP have diametirically opposed agendas. So your comparison has no merit.

President Trump has had historic rallies by dozens from coast to coast. Has that moved the GOP one inch? Of course not.

Since it appears you didn’t read that link I will include the money quote from Judicial Watch here:

“The Obama IRS scandal is bipartisan – McCain and Democrats who wanted to regulate political speech lost at the Supreme Court, so they sought to use the IRS to harass innocent Americans,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “The Obama IRS scandal is not over – as Judicial Watch continues to uncover smoking gun documents that raise questions about how the Obama administration weaponized the IRS, the FEC, FBI, and DOJ to target the First Amendment rights of Americans.”

The veto IS the the check and balance on congress. Also two houses can lead to separate parties in power. Also the USSC can rule anew law unconstitutional.

You are incorrect about no other X&B on congress.

Also the house members serve for 2 years and face the electorate every two year.

Irrespective of the corruption we currently see, the system was well thought out.

“There you go again. The GOP has been openly colluding with the Mueller Coup for two full years.”

And that’s supposed to disprove my point?? What heat did we put on our politicians?

““The other side” Democrats are generally in agreement on policy.”

That’s because anybody that deviates has hell to pay from their activist base.

“You seem to be forgetting the protest at Ryan’s home.”

You mean this from the other side??

“Since it appears you didn’t read that link I will include the money quote from Judicial Watch here:”

There is nothing there that negates my point, which is the other side is full of ACTIVISTS, we are full of TYPISTS.

I was only referring to removing people from office as a check and balance, not all checks and balances.
