As the author of a book on Vatican corruption, I know there are almost no depths to which the progressive Catholic hierarchy will not sink to damage its political enemies. And Cardinal George Pell is the most repellent person imaginable to the so-called lavender mafia of powerful left-wing gay bishops in Rome.
Pell is the feisty, plain-spoken son of a heavyweight boxer; he has a track record of financial prudence and he championed the cause of abuse victims long before Rome took the problem seriously. In short, hes everything the progressive Left and the corrupt Roman curia hate.
And boy, did he make enemies when Pope Francis appointed him to reform the Vatican Bank, one of the most cataclysmically mismanaged financial institutions in the world.

The status quo can’t stay.
Not being the most knowledgeable of Catholics, I don’t know how you overthrow a corrupt, heretical regime.
My advice is keep our eyes on the ball (our souls) and not follow what we know to be wrong.
We have the go to book for that.
At the end of the day, EVERY man or group here on earth is fallible.
And right now the Catholic Church is showing that in stars.
Rather than championing the cause of abuse victims how about eradicating the cause of the abuse?
That would entail letting the likes of Cardinal Pell do their necessary job of swamp-draining. Instead, he's rotting in prison while actual abusers, queers, and those who aid and abet them prowl the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Exactly....this is being driven by the Pope and his appointed henchmen in the Vatican and around the world. St Michael are you listening?
It's a good idea.
How did the Chilean Catholics get rid of Bp. Juan Barros, Bishop of Osorno?
I guess we need a lot more of that?
And/or we can pray for the timely repentant demise of the big wolves in the key places.
Myself, I haven't given money to the parish-diocese-Vatican pipeline in 15 years. My Catholic charitable tuppence all goes to group which are able to keep their funds separate (St. Vincent de Paul Society, Respect Life group) and completely independent Catholic media and watchdog groups (like LifeSite News) who are keeping the spotlight on the wolves.
