However, no reputable low-carb diet would advocate "bacon and eggs" only. A decent low-carb diet would also include a lot of salads, vegetables, berries, nuts, yogurt, fish, etc.

Trans fats, man made engineered fats, certain plant fats, and highly processed carbs that promote metabolic syndrome are the artery cloggers. Animal fats actually counter arterioschlerosis.
Cholesterol is not a cause but rather an indicator of certain disease issues as it’s actually protective in multiple bodily functions.
