Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee unleashed a sprawling probe of President Trump's family, campaign and administration on Monday, that includes more than 80 requests for documents from associates of the president.
Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) and Judiciary Democrats are expanding their probes into the presidents inner circle and family, as well as individuals involved in the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting; plans to build a Trump property in Moscow; and a scheme to pay off women to alleged affairs with Trump before the 2016 election.
Less than a week after the presidents former attorney Michael Cohen delivered explosive public testimony against him on Capitol Hill, Nadler rolled out the expansive investigation that will focus on three key areas: obstruction of justice, public corruption and abuses of power.
In a statement, Nadler accused Trump of evading accountability for his near-daily attacks on our basic legal, ethical, and constitutional rules and norms.
Investigating these threats to the rule of law is an obligation of Congress and a core function of the House Judiciary Committee, Nadler said. We have seen the damage done to our democratic institutions in the two years that the Congress refused to conduct responsible oversight. Congress must provide a check on abuses of power.
The committee is demanding a trove of documents from the White House, including those related to the removal of former national security adviser Michael Flynn; the termination of former FBI Director James Comey; and any conversations about the removal of special counsel Robert Mueller.
The committee is also asking for documents from a slew of current and former White House and administration officials, including Flynn; Trump son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner; former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus; former White House communications director Hope Hicks; and former White House counsel Don McGahn.

It seems to me that what Comrade Nadler wants is a “Bill of Attainder”, which is expressly banned by our Constitution.
Harassment by bad-faith litigation is a form of punishment, and punishment, according to our Constitution, may NOT precede a trial.
Hopefully, President Trump’s attorneys only need only appeal Nadler’s improper requests to a judge who actually understands the Constitution. 9th circuit clown-judge need not apply....
I just need to predict what will happen, so leaving aside the “what should happen” trying to answer the “what WILL happen.”
To me, the Democrats will not impeach if they’re not reasonably encouraged that the Senate would convict, and the Senate will not convict unless the public opinion has moved WAY off of Trump’s current level of support for him.
So if I have to communicate odds on impeachment (as I am tasked to do all the time), I have to communicate odds on voter support, and I don’t see any signs of softening, indeed, since the shutdown ended and the stock market recovered, it has rebounded.

Praying you’re right, on this...and, that Trump’s attorney’s are on the same track.
Yeah. It is. And the first salvo was fired long before this. When will we fight back?
Amazing! They are requesting information that may, or may not exist. They are phishing so-to-speak for documents of self incrimination. They are trying to get the Trump team to supply them with ammunition they can spin for their purpose(s).

Sanctimony, irony, and hypocrisy.
Time for DJT to channel his inner Gen. Pinochet.
What an awesome post. Pretty frightening reality check as to what’s happening to our country.
The puke dem congress cites obstruction as the reason but the hearings will air every bit of innuendo they can dig up from borderline tax deductions to Trump Jr’s African game hunting and Ivanka’s kindergarten records.
Great post. It is time for the formation of a citizens’ national militia which should prepare to go to Washington and confront a Congress which is now allied with those intent on bringing down the country.
Yes, but what about those people here on this site who refused to vote for the republican on their House ballot because he/she wasn’t pure enough. We knew what was going to happen if the Dems gained control of the House and it is happening - investigating everything and everyone. They are demanding millions and millions of documents and will tie the White House in knots and the cabinet agencies too. And they are just getting started.
What new information would possibly make Trump supporters re-think their support? I cannot think of anything.
Thats right - it will have zero effect. If anything, it exonerates him that he endures such intense scrutiny - and yet never any new revelations.
I believe the President figured out long ago that its smart politics to be sorely hated by your adversaries, and he has deliberately cultivated such hatred. All it does is drive them nuts, distract them from whats important, and triggers their emotions. He constantly has them in such an irrational state that they are making very serious political blunders. They are straying so far from mainstream America they will never find their way back.
2020 is shaping up to be an electoral pounding of epic proportions.
I always thought Ronald Reagan was the ultimate politician, but I am beginning to think Donald Trump has raised the bar.
Nadler, the POS, should have had a massive stroke instead of Luke Perry!
“Id line up to pi$$ on his grave!”
Undeserving of a stream..... more like build an outhouse and leave a few piles.
I hope everyone on this lists shows up and pleads the 5th. Tell the smug, little Penguin to kiss it.
