Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky says he will back a resolution that blocks President Trumps declaration of an emergency at the southern U.S. border, giving it the votes needed to pass but not enough to turn back a presidential veto.
Mr. Paul, a Republican, announced his decision during a Saturday speech at Western Kentucky University, according to the Bowling Green Daily News.
I cant vote to give the president the power to spend money that hasnt been appropriated by Congress, Mr. Paul said. We may want more money for border security, but Congress didnt authorize it. If we take away those checks and balances, its a dangerous thing.

I think its principle, and its money. They like open borders cause it means cheap labor.
I’ve had at least one admit it to me.
Rush nailed his ass to the wall this afternoon!
Rush’s diatribe against “nice Republicans” doing the “right” thing in hopes that Democrats would reciprocate was a thing of beauty and a joy to behold!
When the vote occurs, we will know who our enemies are!
EVERY Democrat Senator, and 10 (or more?) Republicans!
We are losing our country, and they do not seem to care!
If every Dem votes yea it’ll only take four RINO’s and there’s not much doubt it’ll pass.
After a POTUS veto it’s a different story though, very much doubt they’ll get a two thirds vote in either house.
Pray that POTUS prevails!
Amen!
Very interesting point.
