This ship sailed years ago when every President since the enactment of the National Emergency Act used the powers delegated to them by the Congress. This is not an issue of the Congress power of the purse, Trump does not need to invoke the NEA to control the needed money. He needs the NEA authority to stymie the reindeer games that the Democrats are playing to delay and thwart Trump’s intent to deliver his promise. It is but one of the little dramas that illustrate the intent of the Democrats to overthrow the Trump Presidency. Any Republican Senator who acts to aid and abet these illegal actions should pay a big political price.

What President Trump is doing is entirely constitutional but a progressive socialist backed president would be outside the Constitution in declaring a national emergency.
