Why would such a piss ant crime carry a 30 year sentence?
i didn’t even know a co guarantor was responsible for lies told by the original signee.
I know you are responsible to pay it back if original signee doesn’t, but i didn’t know you were responsible for investigation whether their financial information is factual or not.
Why are we bitching about this kind of crap? We are the ones tolerating it.

Well, it is becoming clearer every day that those in power either make or interpret the law any way they want. Clearly they try to do this with the Constitution.

She (Cohen’s wife) signed the documents most likely. Bank loan application and tax returns. They’re married and assets are community property.
So she’s equally responsible. Prosecutors look at it as leverage.

Not sure about this theory. It does seem to be merely Patton’s theory even though she starts out saying she can confirm it. But then goes on to say “if this is true”
Cohen might have thought the Mueller could actually turn the threat into reality. Unlimited power and money can make that happen.

That means either this story is completely untrue, or Michael Cohen is an even bigger fool than anyone could've comprehended and the most incompetent lawyer ever.
My own conclusion is that this story doesn't ring true. Cohen can't be this stupid. I'm not a lawyer and hell, even I know it.

They “randomly” got an Obama appointee judge for all these cases. The judge will do what the judge is told to do.
Cohen said he was facing 70 years in jail. He was sentenced to 3 for flipping. Was obvious he was handed the opening and closing statements to read. Most of his testimony exhonerated Trump.
Look at the conspiracy theories Cohen destroyed. Russian collusion. Pee gate. Punching video. Blackmail material existing. Went on and on.
It’s not illegal for a prosecutor to make a deal. Happens all the time. Cohen was facing 70 years. Will do three. His wife not even charged.
Flynn’s son was facing prosecution. So he made a deal as well.
It wouldn't. But you can bet Cohen had her do a WHOLE lot more than just that. Document fraud, false statements on hundreds of matters, woman-owned business nonsense, tax fraud. Who knows. But Cohen is STUPID and did incredibly stupid illegal things. Trump put him in a position to make a fortune legitimately. But he defrauded people and companies out of millions anyway.
