CPAC Invites Van Jones to Celebrate the Greatest Lie of Our Generation

Van Jones is going to CPAC to celebrate Criminal Justice Reform — i.e., the idea that there are way too many black people in prison for no reason whatsoever, other than white racism, so let's let them out.
Miraculously, President Trump, with a little help from Van Jones and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, agreed. So did lots of Republicans. In December, they signed a bill aimed at doing just that. Trump even bragged about it at the State of the Union address.
Conservatives who claim to be enthusiastic about this "reform" usually leave out the fundamental underpinning of CJR that has dominated liberal support for it since it became a thing more than five years ago: white racism is everywhere, all the time, and explains everything.
Consider this a cheat sheet for conservatives who are hoodwinked by Van Jones and his fairy tales. The One Huge Fact about CJR is the enormous disparity between white people and black people in prison. It starts with racist laws, then goes to police, prosecutors, juries, judges, and parole boards all being part of a racist system that stops, arrests, tries, convicts, sentences, releases, and returns black people to prison in numbers that are wildly out of proportion. Especially drugs.
Just a few days ago in Baltimore, state attorney Marilyn Mosby said she was going to stop prosecuting marijuana arrests because most people arrested are black. And, as everyone knows, white people and black people smoke the same amount of pot. Thus the proof of rampant white racism. Again. Right? Wrong. But the entire enterprise of CJR rests on that one piece of fiction as the biggest example of white racism and black victimization in criminal justice.

It’s funny how something like a law can become “racist” simply because a segment of the community is unable or unwilling to live within the guardrails.

I don’t like this virtue signaling and repetition of the big “institutional racism” lie as the price to pay to get a few commies voting for us.
The party of Lincoln must take back the narrative on racial justice. Denying that even a modicum of racism exists in our corrupt-in-general justice system is part of what has allowed the crazy radicals to abuse the issue and run with it into the hellish oblivion of political correctness we are all in now.
Is the “modicum of racism” responsible for the out of control black crime rate? Is that why the black crime rate is 4 to 5 times worse even over the Hispanics? Are racist cops, judges, juries and laws especially aimed at blacks but not other minority groups?
It is a complicated answer with so many facets at work, but racism is a factor yes.
I remember reading the testimony of a black Christian in Texas who was on death row for decades until DNA evidence had cleared him in the murder of a white woman. But even before the DNA stuff, which is due to an advance in science that did not exist at the time he was convicted, details show he was already unfairly tried to begin with. :(

Do you believe that the 60+k per 100k murder rate in Baltimore, worse than most third world nations, is the fault of white racists pinning the murders on black people?
If one Muslim terrorist is falsely convicted, does it mean Muslims in general don’t commit more terrorist actions than other groups?
If whites commit just as many murders as blacks, why do all the security cameras, witnesses, and victims reveal disproportionately black perpetrators, matching all the crime statistics?
Let’s be real here and drop these dumb leftist anecdotes.
I don’t want my taxpayer dollars going towards a ridiculous Neocon prison industrial complex. All people, black or white, should not be in jail forever for minor crimes and felonies.

I’m not sure it is necessary to pretend blacks don’t use more drugs than whites, or that the justice system is racist towards blacks, in order to achieve your objective of legalizing pot.
Although, the dirty little secret about these “minor” drug laws is that they tend to disproportionately target the same groups of people who do extreme crime.
