CNN analyst Van Jones credited the conservative movement with galvanizing support for criminal-justice reform during a Thursday appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) .(snip)
...The conservative movement in this country, unfortunately from my point of view, is now the leader on this issue of reform, Jones said.... . . What youre seeing now is Republican governors being tough on the dollars. Tough on crime and shrinking the prison population.

I don’t know how to feel about that.
Was Van Jones Obama’s “body man” or was that Reggie Love?
That was Reggie Love, though I think Van Jones was a real close second....
Years ago, but not that long ago, there was a big move to get habitual criminals off the streets.
Three strikes laws were put in place across the nation. Many people went to prison, with their last strike sometimes rather lackluster.
I’ve never really been upset about that. Many of these people had run-ins with the law ten, twenty, thirty... Different levels of crime was a full time job to them.
We get up ever morning, go to work, pay our bills and try to lead a productive life. Others wake up polishing off some scheme or another and conducting some level of crime during the day, sometimes multiple times.
Getting that type of person off the streets helped lower crime to the lowest rates it had been in multiple decades.
Then of course you had the Leftists saying that was so unfair, people of color were being targeted. No, people of criminal intent were. We can’t help it who those people turned out to be.
When we had lower crime, guess where the lower crime was. It was many times in the very low income areas that were supposedly being treated unfairly.
Criminals went to prison. Crimes in the hood went down, way down.
So now the pendulum has swung the other direction.
I suspect we’ll see elevated crime stats in short order.
Sure everyone is patting Trump on the back now, but I’m not convinced this is the way it should be. Of course the Leftist who never gave a damn about the average person’s life, and the fact they were exposed to crime, will never admit they are more than happy to see the repeat offenders back on the streets.
Who invited “Free Mumia” Van Jones to CPAC? Who let him in? Unbelievable.
I was going to say “It was Reggie Love with Van Jones bringing up the rear” .... though that may have crossed a line or two...
Imagine the tens (hundreds, thousands?) of millions of graft and corruption that flowed through that office.
shocked me, too. The Outspoken Racist Green Czar of all people. Likely there to put a silent Zero stamp on it - Zero couldn’t get this prison reform because the reparations crowd under his admin wouldn’t allow a stand-alone reform bill.
Maybe Van Jones is seeing how the criminal justice industry just uses people as fodder for jobs.
