I imagine the Trump Admin is forcing companies seeking to place H-1Bs to adhere to both the letter and intent of the law. They’re not used to that.
If these IT consulting firms want cheap labor, they can move their
firms to India, Syria or Iraq.
What law would the government be breaking by not allowing H1b1 visas?

These people are enemies of American citizens, flat out.
Kill the H1B program and deport them and their families!!! ALL OF THEM.

H1 B can be cut in a huge way. It is a method to get indentured servants for work that Americans can do. I have been directly impacted by H1-B. It is a sham. CEO’s get multimillion dollar bonuses while American workers get the shaft.
They tried the India route and failed massively especially in the area of tech support.
Dell, for example, offshored server support to India for a time. Corporations paying a king’s ransom for support contracts were incensed that they had to deal with poorly educated and poorly trained call center workers with the added obstacle of those jibber jabber accents.
India failed the audition. Unfortunately, the call centers and workers remained.
Now ‘consulting firms’ spam companies asking about job openings and spam job seekers with them. They are ‘in Texas’ but actually in Bangalore.
The OTHER call center leftovers went to the dark side: phone and email scams.

Guy has a point, denial rate should be 100% for all companies. America does not need to import coders from India. Jeez.

If the company cannot PROVE they made a good faith effort to find an American worker at any kind of fair wage, they need to have their case dismissed and be charge court costs.
Worse yet, the large American corporations are setting up tech campuses all over India, China, anywhere they can get cheap labor. Then, instead of bringing the H-1Bs here to work with us, they just move all the jobs there, and we Americans get shafted.
Or at least that was the main game under 0bama in the early days of this decade...
H-1B is another form of invasion. USA jobs should be for USAians. Allow more legitimate immigration if we need more people. Merit based.
Corporate America, not really USA institutions anymore. Globalists nearly all.
Well these days if you want a IT job you can set your own price...like it used to be back in the late 90-early 2000’s...
These firms should have their licenses yanked and send home their employees en masse. Good riddance.
I know State Street Bank for one does a very large percentage of their software development in China and has done so for at least the past decade.
If you're a company IT exec listening to these managed services companies lies, get some education. I have turned some to date by just relating war stores on some of the disasters (no real names named) I have personally have been involved with.
God Bless America and the American worker, and may He deal with those who sell those same employees out for a few silver coins (or maybe a lot of silver coins)...

If they really do need these people, that’s one thing.
If they really are trying to drive down wages for jobs that could be totally filled by Americans from the marketplace they are trying to sell to, that is another thing.
You cannot keep undermining your own market and expect it to continue to function.
