First of all, Senator Tillis has voted the right way every time that we’ve needed him, including in the Judiciary Committee (where he held firm and denied Garland a hearing, and later voted Gorsuch, Cavanaugh and every other Trump judicial nominee out of committee). Had Tillis wanted to vote against the EPA nominee (who was going to get confirned anyway) because he thought that it will help him win reelection next year in a battleground state, then more power to him. Having Wheeler win confirmation with 52 votes instead of 51 votes is nowhere near as important as having Thom Tillis win reelection in what surely will be a competitive race.

But, more importantly, Thom Tillis NEVER SAID that he would vote against Wheeler as head of the EPA (Google it if you don’t believe me). In fact, Tillis ignored the huge media campaign in NC to strongarm him into opposing Wheeler, and he voted FOR Wheeler’s confirmation yesterday, when Wheeler was confirmed 52-47. See https://www.rollcall.com/news/congress/senate-confirms-former-coal-lobbyist-wheeler-lead-epa.

Oh, and RINO Murkowski (who does need to be primaried out, although that won’t be possible until 2022) voted for Wheeler as well. The only GOP senator to vote against Wheeler was Susan Collins (who, as far as I’m concerned, has earned the right to cast a few meaningless environmentalist votes after she cast the deciding vote to get Kavanaugh confirned in the face of all that vitriol), and, except for the absent Sinema, every Democrat (including “pro coal” “Blue Dog” Joe Manchin of WV) voted against Wheeler.

We have enough enemies in the RAT Party to try to invent new ones in the GOP. If you want to defeat a North Carolina incumbent in 2020, there’s a dangerous liberal Democrat governor who stole the 2016 election and who needs to be first and foremost in our target list.

Tillis voted aye! You mislead us Centurion. He did however announce his voting for the rat resolution on the border (so is “hero” Rand Paul) perhaps you got the 2 things mixed up.

A lot of freepers seem to hate Tillis.

But as Goldwater has said, he almost always votes correctly on matters of import so we need to consider whether risking the seat and expending resources for the chance to slightly improve upon him is worth it, I can’t imagine it is. As an aside, I’d give Collins a pass in the primary and fully support her over her Marxist opponent.

In any case defeating the rat Governor is extremely important so Dan Forest needs to stay in that race.
