In the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle (because, duh, its Seattle) stands a 16 foot tall statue of communist revolutionary and innovator of mass starvation and firing squads, Vladimir Lenin. Republican lawmakers in Washington have now introduced a bill to study and make recommendations on an appropriate historical figure to replace the statue of Lenin, and to represent the state of Washington.

No one was charged here, precedent set, so maybe someone will step up to the plate a take that one down.
The statue isn’t downtown, but in an area called Fremont, which borders the ship canal that bisects the city. It’s right down the street from the funeral home that handled my mother’s funeral, and it’s near a café or tavern called the Red Star.
lumberjacks is an est coast word inappropriately applied to men who do not make lumber.
Logger is the correct word on the west coast because they make logs not lumber.

Lenin is perfect for WA State. Guy kills 20 million of his own people to keep the USSR safe for Communism. There is a statue of him right in front of everyone, and nobody cares one bit about the history.
But hang the Stars and Bars outside your watering hole and get ready for the monkeys to start the poo-flinging.
Now the city needs a Karl Marx statue. Later, one for Che, then.....
