Never Trumpers equals people too spineless to stick up for conservative principles. The world has no use for them.

Primary elections are base elections, and Trump’s support among the base is about the highest that any sitting president has had. A primary against him would be an exercise in futility.

Sans Trump, the GOP hands the election to the Dems in 2020.

There is not one of those other 15 GOP wannabes from 2016 [nor any new GOP faces] who could replace him and win.

Trump has two things going for him now that he didn’t have in 2016: (1) a record to run on; and (2) no uncertainties about who he is and how he might govern. He’ll be almost impossible to beat.

Lewis and his ilk would be happy to toss Trump in the Potomac and return the GOP to the party of elite cloying Bushism. So, they do what other captives do in their situation: think up alternatives to the current reality.

More like 'alternatives to reality' - deus ex machina is just for starters...

A primary challenge is meaningless. An independent (libertarian or anti-Trump) third party campaign could be a nightmare.

Matt Lewis is a Cheap Labor Express propagandist.
They really don’t want us to restore the rule of law and return to their own countries the 30 million people they invited here against the will of the citizens.

I’m not at all convinced the Never Trumpers are interested in a “Reaganite”.

They’d need to find a saleable candidate first. A kasick-Romney-bush ticket would never work. (The only thing I was worried about is Djt calling it quits. But today’s press says he’s building up his campaign resources for 2020 - so all the commie—D shit- hurling hadn’t fazed him )

Won’t primary him of the GOP ticket and none of their primary folks will be able to supplant him in the general....”Bitter sweet drams baby....why must they dream....”

I'm not worried at all about Trump being undone by a primary challenge - there is no one popular enough and only a few foolish enough (Kasich, possibly Romney but I think he dreams of chaos and the party asking him to be the rescuing white knight.)

I'd be far more concerned about a well-funded third-party right-of-center candidate who couldn't win but who could draw away enough votes to deny Trump the win.
