During a speech at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics on Tuesday, California Senatorand Green New Deal supporter Kamala Harris had a dire warning for the Granite State: The city of Portsmouth will soon be underwater due to climate change.
I was in Portsmouth yesterday. If you look at the rates and the tables in terms of the decline, because we are talking about decline, within a relatively short period of time, it will be underwater. This is a real issue, Harris said.
Harris was speaking at a Politics and Eggs breakfast event, which is a must-stop on the presidential campaign trail through New Hampshire. Though she did not mention the Green New Deal by name, she has previously endorsed the proposal and is making climate change a central part of her White House bid.

Thanks for a fascinating side trip to visit the Broomway. Never heard of it until now.
You’re right 350,000,000,000 tons or 1,000,000,000,000 tons for 3 mm.
I would think she would be more concerned with her hometown of Oakland, as it is situated near the water as well.
It was a relatively short time ago that the Chicago area was under two miles of ice.
Thats why they are giving away waterfront property in Portsmouth. Only $3.2 million for this soon to be submerged waterfront condo

This up-and-coming gaggle of Democrat politicians and media types are nothing but immature drama queens.
Most people — Republican, Democrat, or Independent — just plain can’t stand drama queens.
[Insert Ellen DeGeneres joke here]
If we weren’t such assholes. this would never have happened.
Prove it Kamala.
Current sea level rise is about a little over an inch per decade. It is not accelerating. The chances of attaining that kind of rise (7.5 inches per decade) is zero. Furthermore while the worldwide average might be as much as 3mm per year, the relative rise in Portsmouth is just 1-2mm per year as others posted.
The United States is underwater to the tune of $22 trillion.

I was going to say that, but I knew someone would have beaten me to it, so I read the thread first.
They won’t be satsfied until they have not only bankrupted the country, but all of us as well.
And of course taxes up the wahzoo will keep the seas from rising.
And raise the Dead.
A miracle!
(but only if you give the money to third world sh^tholes for dictators to spend)
Portsmouth underwater? Don’t see the problem...
She heard there was a submarine base there. She panicked because if the base was already under water.....
Sure hope she’s there when it does!!!!!
Kam may become responsible for a riot in Portsmouth as citizens there become frantic knowing they will suffer gigantic losses of jobs and property - loss of an entire city. People will be crying, moaning, wailing in the streets. All city services will come to a halt as workers will be looking elsewhere for employment. There will be a complete breakdown in social norms as people become distraught. And Kamala Harris can take the blame for another false alarm - fake news, once again, doncha know!!!
Wasnt NY to be flooded and Miami to have fish swimming in the streets by now? Gore has told us since the 1990s we only had 10 years. These people are so sick.
Not only that, but the chart is showing what amounts to the derivative of the change since 50 years ago where the variable in question varies by more than a meter twice a day due to tidal variation, and the waves (and wakes from boats) can be just as large.
The measurement itself has to represent some kind of filtered representation of the actual water level, which is varying constantly due to tides, currents, wind, wakes, the hydrodynamic effects of swimming fish, and even the ripples that result from a sea gull's poop landing in the water.
The trend in question is buried so far into the noise that it may well be just an artifact of measurement and processing.
