JTA Dana Nessel has spent much of her career challenging the state and federal government to advance progressive causes. In 2015, the Jewish attorney successfully argued in a case to overturn Michigans ban on same-sex marriage.
The lawsuit, in which Nessel represented a lesbian couple looking to jointly adopt their foster children, was later combined with others in that years landmark Supreme Court case Obergefell v. Hodges, which legalized same-sex marriage.
But after the 2016 presidential election, Nessel, 49, decided she wanted to go about things in a different way. As she saw egregious policies at the federal and state level, she decided to run for office.

I get confused with the Israeli press. I know Haaretz is Guardian-level garbage, JPost is reasonable, Hayom and Arutz Sheva pretty good, but I am not sure where Times stands.
Would love enlightenment from those more in the know.
Certainly true today that all faiths have their Frankies.
RE: Judaism inspires the first openly gay politician in Michigan state office
What ever it is than inspires this openly gay politician, It can’t be Judaism. Unless you redefine Judaism and ignore the Torah and the teachings of Moses on sexual morality.
I might ask her if she believes in the God of Abraham, Issac and Israel. If she does, she needs to make amends. If not then her ‘Jewishness’ means nothing.
Now this open sodomite is AG in Michigan. Is it the mission of all JINOs to devolve society?
Will their Muslim peers kill him before kicking him off the top of the building or after?????

All of the prohibitions against homos... originate in Jewish religious text. It’s one thing that Judaism, Christianity and Islam all clearly forbid. The fact that there are disingenuous distorters like the MI pol around is sad. According to Judaism, it’s part of the moral code that G-d gave to Adam and forbade for all mankind.
The Times of I has no exact philosophy and has diverse opinion. That’s not how a Jewish owned site should be run, but that is the basic answer to the question.
Times of Israel is owned by American Seth Klarman. It is secular and leans anti-religious. Most of its writers came from Leftist publications.
Thanks, that’s what I gathered
She’s a lesbian.
God still calls the practice of homosexuality an abomination.
Jewish GAYS will be the DOWNFALL of JUDAISM!! Forget inter religion marrying.
She better not get used to the spotlight. The election of Tlaib is a sign of things to come in that state. I wonder if she’s ever heard of Hamtramk, Mich and how tolerant it’s city councilman are.
The election results in Michigan we’re just sickening. This is a key State for Trump, if he carries it again he wins.
Them headlines work better when folks don’t actually read the stories....which all too often give the lie to the headline.
[sarcasm]Oooh, but you don't get it! You see, both Judaism and homosexuality are rebellious and subversive according to staid old "chrstian" fuddy-duddies. Both Judaism and homosexuality (along with Blackness) are disgusting perversions that had to be de-criminalized when atheists finally wrested the government from chrstian Genesis-thumpers (we all know that Genesis is the most important book in the "new testament!"). Now people with standards are wanting to re-criminalize homosexuality [they're not, unfortunately] and as We All Know, once you outlaw one disgusting, subversive form of rebellion, the others (Judaism and Blackness) will inevitably be re-criminalized as well!!!!1111[/sarcasm]
Okay . . . everybody saw the "satire" markers on that, right?
To Jewish liberals (which unfortunately means most Jews living in the western world, excluding the Torah-observant), Judaism is defined exclusively as a form of rebellion against chrstianity. No chrstianity to "rebel" against, no Judaism.
I'm just wondering which religion it was that there Moses feller and David feller practiced???
