It is now safe. Did you hear that, Saturday Night Live? It is now safe to satirize Jussie Smollett.
After weeks of fearing to tread into this area of comedy due to not wanting to challenge the official line that Jussie Smollett was the victim of a hate crime perpetrated by MAGA hat types, despite a lot of evidence that this was actually a hoax, the comedy floodgates seemed to have finally opened this week. On Friday night the Daily Show presented an hilarious skit brutally mocking Smollett in the form of a Lifetime movie parody.

Not entirely. The Charles Blow’s of the world are still attempting to circle the wagons around the idea that ridiculing Smollett is giving aid and comfort to racists and that you are a horrible person if you didn’t buy Smollett’s story lock-stock-barrel.
To be comedians, they'd actually have to be funny.

I think we are all supposed to feel saddened and tormented about this and that we are terrible horrible, horrible and terrible people if we ridicule Smollett.

Sadly for their mental health (and our country) Lefties have the sense of humor of cat pee. In fact, the more I think of it, less than cat pee because it is clear that my cat had a sense of humor.
I hope he succeeds where his fake hate-crime failed.

They are turning this into a joke in order to obscure the seriousness of it. Had there been actual video of the “attack” it would still be shown in an endless loop and pundants would be rending their garments in anguish over the horror. There would be riots. There could have been innocent whites imprisoned to placate a mob. This was shaping up to be a big deal and now the want to wash it away by joking about it. No, this needs to be taken seriously. Don’t let them off the hook.
