Elizabeth Warren opens door to reparations for Native Americans

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Sen. Elizabeth Warren said Friday evening that Native Americans should be “part of the conversation” on reparations, showing a willingness to expand the debate over whether minority groups that have faced discrimination should be financially compensated by the federal government.
Warren is one of four Democratic presidential hopefuls who have said in recent days that they’re open to providing some type of reparations to African Americans who are descendants of people who were enslaved in the United States, although they’ve offered varying levels of details about how the goal would be achieved.
So far, Warren is the only one to entertain the notion of including Native Americans. “I think it’s a part of the conversation,” she said when asked whether the group should also receive some kind of relief. “I think it’s an important part of the conversation.”
This ground is fraught for Warren, who claimed to be Native American for about two decades when she was a law professor. She has apologized for doing this, but the issue dogged her in her first Senate race and has been a persistent source of tension in her nascent presidential bid.
Warren made the remarks on reparations after addressing about 900 New Hampshire Democrats at the state party’s annual McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Dinner at the Hilton in Manchester. Warren enjoyed a standing ovation when she walked onto the stage, and her speech was frequently interrupted by applause.

Reparations for Indian tribes?
I know there is some grinding poverty on some reservations, but some tribes are doing very well with gambling.
But is poverty on reservations really a good indicator of life for tribal people? They are not required to live on reservations.
The liberal mantra: “With my guilt and your gelt, we can do anything!”

I think we should include the Irish for this. We got a lot of abuse over the years, for being Irish and for being catholic.
You mean not paying taxes, owning free land and managing casinos again, without paying taxes isn’t enough?
Is she on the giving side or the receiving? And will dna tests help Americans know how much of their income they should repay themselves?

Nice to see people who will voluntarily disqualify themselves from any public office by promoting such things. It makes election choices so much easier.
She’s well-aware she’ll never be President, but the more she keeps campaigning, the more money she gets from stupid people.

Do you know why artists such as JERRY SEINFELD, pat benatar etc headline at San Manuel and indian casinos? They dont necc. have to declare the performance income. I;ve been to San Manuel a few times.
This works both ways. In a year such as 1842 Indians attacked tortured and killed innocent families that were heading west. Women and children were not excluded.
It is time for them to pay reparations for that.
