JUSSIE SMOLLETT- 'I SWEAR TO GOD, I DID NOT DO THIS' Pleads to 'Empire' Cast

Jussie Smollett is begging his "Empire" family to believe he's innocent and continue supporting him -- even as the drama of his arrest postponed a scene Thursday in Chicago. Sources on the "Empire" set tell us the cast and crew were waiting at least 30 minutes for Jussie to begin the scheduled scene. When he eventually showed his face he was very emotional, and surrounded by his family. We're told he addressed everyone on set, saying ..."I’m sorry I’ve put you all through this and not answered any calls. I wanted to say I’m sorry and, you know me, I would never do this to any of you, you are my family. I swear to God, I did not do this.” After that, he left the set. We're told it was obvious Jussie had been crying a lot, so producers said he would have to come back later. He did, and we're told he is currently shooting the scene.

I’m actually kind of surprised that this fool is taking this approach (and that his lawyers are letting him). At this point, I would pretty much expected him to shut up and then plead a defense of stress/depression/insanity that comes with being a small town girl living in a lonely world (i.e., a gay black man in a racist, homophobic, Trumpian country).

The pressures of living in Trump-hell made me lose my sanity.

Maybe he could use the Marion Barry line: "I was thinking so much about others, I forgot to take time to think of what was right for me."

Please - in Chicago it's no sure thing he'll even be convicted. He's now gotten plenty of attention and support from the usual suspects for his strident anti-Trump BS, and he'll be posing as a social justice spokesman for years to come.

Apparently, Smollett’s take on ‘Empire’ is $65,000 per episode. What ‘Empire’ was discussing at the conclusion of production in 2018...was decreasing the number of episodes that he would appear in (18 are produced each year...I don’t know what the norm was for him to appear). So this would have probably added up to three less episode appearances, thus equaling a $195k less on salary. For the agent, and Smollett...it would have been a bitter pill to swallow.

My take is that the agent talked about some type of public situations, and Smollett decided to go to the extreme, and hoax this thing to keep his episode count at the max. Agent had to be in on the scheme, is at fault as well.

‘Empire’ now? You are stuck with a drama-queen and people laughing behind the scenes at his ‘game’. I don’t see him coming back to the show, and if Chicago cops have their say...he’ll do at least six months in jail.

I'm not sure I buy the "he did it because he wanted more money" story. I'm not even sure who put that theory forward. He's still denying he even did a hoax, so it didn't come from him.

I think this theory as to his motive is being put out to soften the harsh reality of the situation... namely that he is a racist who hates Trump and all Trump supporters.
