They were all for gerrymandering until they lost control of so many state legislatures.

Exactly, the new Democrat plan is to turn it all over to a "non-partisan" commission chosen by the State Bar Association with no input from the elected representatives of the people. This issue is too important to be left to the people. Only their intellectual superiors can make these important decisions.
