Democratic Sens. Kamala Harris (Calif.) and Elizabeth Warren (Mass.), who are both running for president, have reportedly said they support reparations for black Americans affected by slavery.
The New York Times reported Thursday that Harris affirmed her support for reparations in a statement after agreeing last week with a radio host that reparations are necessary.
"We have to be honest that people in this country do not start from the same place or have access to the same opportunities," Harris said in the statement. "Im serious about taking an approach that would change policies and structures and make real investments in black communities."
Warren has also said that she supports reparations, according to the Times, though her campaign declined to provide further details to the newspaper.
The Hill has reached out to both campaigns for comment.
Warren and Harris are both pursuing the Democratic nomination for president in 2020 and the Times noted that previous Democratic presidential candidates have not supported reparations.
Among those who have not backed the policy are former President Obama, 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and her Democratic rival that year, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), the Times noted. Sanders is running for president again in 2020.

“Only REPATRIATION ...”
Agreed. Let those who seek reparations sign-up for repatriation to any foreign county that will take them.
Oh goodie, since Im part black and Native American, does that mean that my reparations are doubled? Im rich blotch!
To ALL that propose this: Ever been to Gettysburg, Shiloh Hill, Bull Run, Chancellorsville, Antietam, Chickamauga, etc.??? Over 1.7 million casualties counting both sides. Their shed blood is your reparations, dumbazzes. And you probably don’t even deserve it. Get a life.
I assume when candidates appeal to bottom-feeders with this nonsense then they already know their candidacy is a long shot. Too many non-blacks still vote in this country, and the replacement Americans from Latin America and Asia have no interest in sending their hard-earned money to our perpetual agitators.
This is only about buying primary votes; once that hurdle is cleared, they have to convince the larger electorate that they are “normal”.
While Fauxcahontas was bad enough with her affirmative action box-checking as an Indian, Kamala’s pandering to black stereotypes with marijuana and rap music (fabricated BS, according to the dates involved) was particularly offensive - and blacks (besides her own father) should be destroying her for it. As the spotlight shines on Kamala longer, and blacks realize she has a white husband, then they’ll really see the mockery behind those comments. Makes Hillary’s “hot sauce she keeps in her bag” seem trivial...
More of whities money to the deadbeats
I need reparations from you ‘Murcans, too! My ancestors lost good farmland in ol’ Virginie because they sided with George of Hanover rather than that uppity Washington feller. Y’all took my birthright after that Treaty of Paris in 1783 and kicked my ancestors out. </sarc>
What the heck! If the Dhimmis are giving away the country, might as well have my share too. Especially since my claim is 80 years older than theirs.
What about American Indians and Jamaicans?
Or are both of these women black now?

My ma’s grandfolks was born in 1847, 1855, 1854, 1860.
My pa’s grandfolks was born in 1850, 1856, 1842, 1861.
None had high cheekbones.
By 1887, one was dead and 3 were widowed.

Where do I send the donation for the tickets?
I understand that; the West (by God) Virginia side of my family put on blue uniforms in the 1860’s, and killed the hell out of their flat lander Virginia cousins in that war.
and a big F U to U-2! I’m not black, and my great-grandfather fought for the Union in the War Between the States, but I was born and raised in the south. Mr. Lincoln’s war was not about slavery, it was about expanding the power and grasp of federal government. Go read a damn history book instead of getting your history from MSNBC.
There were 25,000 black slave owners at the start of the war.How much money will they be getting? One of SCs biggest slave owners was a free black man. His sons fought for the Confederacy. How much will his ancestors be getting? Finally how much will the ancestors of families be getting who lost everything when the murdering madman Sherman went through the South, burning and killing everything in his path.
So the billion$ that have been transferred to multiple generations of minorities dont count?
And theres the numerous diversity taxes that we pay:

Hi, I’m ______ your Democratic candidate for President.
After I’m elected, you’ll be paying for three things. Slavery reparations, a fully green economy, and

FLYING TRAINS @@@
umm yes, flying trains. Hey, I’m voting for Trump, maybe you should too.
This has been a message from the Democratic Party. We’re Not All Nuts.
Unless they have just escaped from the Middle East or Africa, virtually no one.
I thought when the slaves were free they gave them a plot of land and a mule...
Don't count on it.
There is a growing segment of the electorate that will buy this in the current PC climate.
That’s a great way to frame it; it is that ridiculous.
