My BIL was a cop in the 70’s in west Texas. He stopped at my house in his patrol car one day and pulled his throw down gun wrapped in Saran Wrap out from under the seat. Said all the guys carried them. Eventually quit because he had developed an us versus them attitude, and all of his fellow cops felt the same way. Oh, and I was one of “them”.
I’m glad he had enough of a conscience to quit.
It makes one wonder about ‘all the [other] guys [who] carried them’...
