Funny, I don’t seem to recall every winter storm garnering this much attention in my youth.
“They” name them, now. To add to the hysteria.
People were sane back then...and the environazis hadn’t taken over yet.
I think that's because the media had not yet figured out that blowing an event completely out of proportion would be GOOD for VIEWERSHIP RATINGS.
I believe it's called turning "NOTHING into SOMETHING!"
