Late Monday, CWBChicago received confirmation that the letter case has been before a federal grand jury and multiple subpoenas have been generated over the course of the investigation.
In a conversation on Feb. 8th, before police met with brothers Ola and Abel Osundairo, a leading source within the Smollett attack investigation called the hate crime a "false flag" and said “There is a direct line between (the letter) and (the purported attack)." In the same conversation, the source hinted at what was to come: "This is not a whodunit. It's a how-many-people-dunit."
Whoever mailed the letter "made an enormous mistake," we were told. Federal charges were "certain."
A law firm partner who asked not to be identified by name spoke with us about the federal problems ahead for whoever mailed the letter: “If they have Smollett on the letter, he’ll be facing ’terroristic hoax’ charges, a felony. There may be federal obstruction charges as well.”
All in all, the federal legal options are numerous: “If they want to bury him, they can.”
Meanwhile, the Osundairo brothers are reportedly holed up in a Chicago hotel with police protection.

While the claims are reliant upon unnamed sources, which of course must be regarded with caution, what I found interesting was the info that the prior hoax "letter" with white powder may indeed blow this up into an extremely serious Federal case for Jussie.
Some of us have wondered/discussed that possibility.
No guarantees, but it seems likely that Jussie has really wrecked his life more than he might imagine.....

The unnamed sources claim to confirm Grand Jury, FBI and Postal Inspector investigations, likelihood of extremely serious charges for Jussie.

I din’t like all the unnamed sources. I’ll wait until something actually happens.
This guy is emotionally fragile, seeking affirmation from everyone around him. He might just kill himself before it gets that far.
Well I also greatly dislike unnamed sources, but I find it “interesting”..... I read a bunch of their articles and they seem well connected locally in Chicago, but of course we will have to see what pans out....
The handwriting is so terribly obvious. One L the right way next to a backwards L? Handwriting mixed with cutout letters?

Just to suggest fed charges will occur? That’s a joke. It’s city cops of Chicago investigating and it’ll be the local prosecutor who finally gets saddled with this. He’ll eventually offer a ‘deal’ to Smollett....to pay all cost with the investigation, the court costs, a fine, and just a public statement to admit he’s admitting himself to some kind of rehab clinic. If it’s anything like six months in jail, I agree with you....Smollett is too unstable to handle it, and he’ll commit suicide.
Here's a helluva coincidence. @JussieSmollett threat letter was mailed on January 18th. Also on January 18th, someone posted this question on a (GAY) celebrity gossip site:

You are totally missing the point — there was an anonymous “white powder” letter mailed to Jussie via USPS a week before the hoax attack. They had HazMat at the studio for the “Empire” show. If you don’t think the feds got involved (both FBI and Postal Inspectors) for a “white powder” letter sent to a guy with all his political connections, it is you who are missing reality.
What will come of it? Of course we don’t know yet. But the notion that this is purely a local Chicago matter disappeared a week before the hoax “beating” attack even occurred.
Jussie is the fruit who cried wolf.
He might just kill himself before it gets that far.

Put down the Pepsi and get up to speed. Sending threats, real or fake including fake chemicals like the crushed up aspirin through the US Mail is a federal beef. Regardless of the local police and what they choose to do about the fake police report - Juicy will be facing a phalanx of federal investigators
