Apparently, the under the table payments would have made up for any losses to New Yorkers. But giving a company tax breaks isn’t going to create any tax breaks for THEM. It’s like lottery money -— “get a new supply of money flowing in, so we can skim and spend more! Who cares about keeping taxes low for the people!”
The tax breaks were to be reflected as a reduction in their bill. The estimate I saw was they would pay 27 billion. They had a 3 bill break therefore they would pay 24 bill over 10 years.
Laughingly AOL thought there was 3 billion to redirect by chasing Amazon away.
