Ummm...no. There is no declaration of war. And there is no other authority under US or international law to do this. Venezuelans need to figure this out. If they were willing to give up their guns to their own government in 2012, they need to sacrifice their own lives to get rid of their own repressive govt. I am not in favor of shedding one drop of American blood down there. Call me when they have adopted a US or Swiss constitution and the entire population is armed to prevent tyranny.

Russia has a huge Islamic population and is even touted to become a Muslim majority nation within decades, compare that to the Christian country of Ukraine that Russia attacked. Also, both Russia and Ukraine continue to have high percentages of atheism, you are just putting out a line that is not confirmed by reality. Also, Russia may not ever be able to overcome all of the abortion in its past. If the population grows, it’s the Muslims making it up and Russia still has a declining population.
China is likely, the number one threat.
I don’t know the history, maybe guns were confiscated but Venezuela and Caracas are certainly known for their high murder rate, I doubt if all of this is done with knives.

The people willingly turned them in when a defacto ban was passed in 2012. One Venezuelan i know has told me that it is not “in the culture” to keep guns in the home. In that case, they need to save themselves with anything they can get their hands on.
