A Tennessee man is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment after witnesses told police he pulled a gun on a man who was wearing Make America Great Again hat inside Sams Club.
The hat is associated with President Donald Trumps campaign for office.
James Phillips, 57, of Cottontown, Tenn., is accused of pulling a gun on the man inside the store Saturday after making an obscene gesture with his finger, according to his arrest citation.
Phillips, who was wearing a veterans cap, told police he made the gesture at the man and a woman with him because of the MAGA hats they were wearing, according to his citation. The man then confronted Phillips inside the store and an argument began.
That man then made the same obscene gesture to Phillips, according to the citation. At that point, witnesses told police Phillips pointed a gun at the man. That portion of the incident could not be seen on video surveillance.
Police encountered Phillips and the couple after being called to the Sams Club parking lot where multiple witnesses had called the police to report a man pulling a gun on a couple, according to his citation.
Callers told police the man, later identified as Phillips, told the woman, its a good day to die b ..
In his rear right pocket, Phillips was carrying a concealed .40 caliber Glock with a bullet chambered. He had two extra magazines in his left cargo pocket, according to his arrest citation.
He holds a concealed carry permit from Tennessee which has a reciprocal agreement with Kentucky for concealed carry licenses.
Phillips is lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
This ended as it should.

My friend, You do know that if someone with legal carry would have seen him holding a gun on a couple and shot him, that it would have more than likely been ruled a justifiable shooting, right?
If these leftist idiots start seeing that there’s sometimes bad consequences for their bad behavior then more of them might think twice before becoming unglued like that.
So, I don’t take back my position. Dangerous games like that can backfire rather quickly.
I like your post.
Well...go ahead and explain what you mean....
I want to be there and tell the police exactly what happened, that's all.
LOL
Yessir, you done figgered it out quicker than a june bug on rice! Or somethin’ like that.

I have “TRUMP 45” Vanity License Plates on my Car.
In early 2017 I was buying Gas at my local Costco. As I got in my Car to leave, a “Latin” looking guy walks over from where he was gassing up his Car, leans against the Gas Pump and asks me if the Plate is referring to Trump being the 45th POTUS.
I answer in the affirmative and tell him Trump is great and the guy goes ballistic, ranting and raving about Trump, blah, blah, blah.
I just told him well, this is America and I pulled away. I had no idea what he would have done if I decided to get out my Car and start arguing with him.
Outside of a couple of people flipping me off and this one incident, no other problem. In fact, people always like to talk to me when I’m out and about and they see me getting in or out of my Car. They all tell me they wouldn’t have the guts to put any Trump related stuff on ther own Cars.
There are lots of times/places in Texas where that punk would not have survived pointing a weapon at a Texan man’s wife...
You mean like it was solved after a Bernie Sanders supporting commie shot up a congressional baseball practice after first making sure they were republicans? Oh, that’s been dropped into the memory hole never to be mentioned again, as all acts of violence by leftists are.
Yikes, this Pierce guy has icewater in his veins. I'm not sure this was the wisest approach to the situation but I guess his coldly challenging response scared the guy with the gun off. He's lucky the guy didn't take him up on his challenge to pull the trigger though.
The military takes all kinds, during my first enlistment (1984-87) I met a guy (11B, Infantryman) who was an overt and avowed Trotskyite. He hated the Soviet Union, as a corruption of the Socialist ideal, with a burning passion.
From what I understood, aside from a tendency to bore people with polemics, he caused no problems. I met him because everyone thought he was a novelty and infantrymen find the wierdest st amusing.
