France's president Emmanuel Macron has condemned anti-Semitic abuse hurled at an eminent French philosopher in Paris.

A small group of "yellow vest" ("gilets jaunes") demonstrators accosted Alain Finkielkraut during Saturday's protests in the French capital.

They shouted: "Go back to Tel Aviv!", "We are France!", and "Zionist!".

The "Yellow Vests" are not in every sense a unified political movement, and contain within it groups and individuals we Conservatives would not personally associate ourselves with.

One the one hand they seem to be protesting the French elites, but that suggestion would have an American mistakenly believe they and the French elite are on opposite positions on all things; which is not true.

There is so much that is different between the French and American cultures and what citizens in each country expect from their government, that American Conservatives should be careful about thinking they and the Yellow Vests have everything in common - we don't.

They are taking the actions if a few and trying to paint the entire movement. Typical leftie trick.

If I were part of the French elite, here’s what I’d do. I’d hire some thugs. I’d tell them to put on yellow vests. And then I’d tell them to go harass some Jews.

Bear in mind that Macron is ignoring the greatest threat to French Jews - the muzznimals who are taking over France, no-go-zone by no-go-zone.

The surrender monkey can just STFU.

No argument. Yet, have you seen “high immigration” (and you know where it is coming from) as one of the feature Yellow Wests complaints?

Your sarcasm is understood.

Yet, a Jewish French-American neighbor friend of mine with family in France does not think the incident in the report is innacurrate as to who was behind the protests. Antisemitism in France did not begin with Muslim/Arab immigration to France. It is very old.

I think the report was accurate. It reported the protest, which was small and likely not so much a “nationally organized protest” as one that local Yellow Vests set up.

And it also reported how the leaders of the Yellow Vests condemned the antisemitic actions of the protestors.

But that is some of the nature of the Yellow Vests movement. It is not entirely and does not operate entirely as organized from the top down. With that in mind, not all the Yellow Vests are or will be on the same page on some things.

If you do not like Macron, you will totally hate his replacement.

Let me guess...the “yellow vest” wearing anti-Semites were actually Macron operatives who are trying to discredit the legitimate yellow vest protestors.

Same thing happened at the early TEA Party protests in Washington DC and elsewhere. Left-wing operatives carrying signs calling Obama the “n” word....that sort of thing. They were trying to discredit the real TEA Party people.

“Let me guess...the “yellow vest” wearing anti-Semites were actually Macron operatives who are trying to discredit the legitimate yellow vest protestors.”

No such proof. And, it would be a mistake to think that the non-centralized Yellow Vests movement is without any antisemites in France, with nothing but conspiracy theories for evidence. So on your belief, go hunt down the proof.

I was in Paris this week, and its pretty clear the anarchists, misfits and thugs are grabbing their vests and blending in. I spoke with many working people who first supported the movement and are now distancing themselves due to the behavior of the bad apples. Its getting old and they are slowly losing support of the middle......
