It seems odd that Somalis would want to move to MN. I can only guess that the Obama Admin sort of helped them along. But the weather/climate and topography is completely different.

That’s where the Bush’s, Clintons, and Obama put them. Better to destabilize the upper mid west.
Minnesota and Maine attract a disproportionate number of Somali immigrants because they have the most generous welfare programs in the country.
A lot of Somalis were hired in the cattle slaughtering businesses in Minnesota and elsewhere. Doing jobs that other Americans won’t do, and for some, because they killed their own cattle/sheep etc. for food in their native Somalia.
