Fox 32 reporter Rafer Weigel said Saturday afternoon that Chicago police sources confirmed detectives were able to show that the Nigerian brothers who were “persons of interest” and questioned by police, bought the rope found around Jussie Smollett’s neck at Ace hardware.
Jussie Smollett alleged two white Trump supporters violently attacked him at 2 AM in the streets of Chicago when he was walking home from Subway with a sandwich in his hand.
Smollett told police the attackers were white and hurled homophobic and racial slurs at him while they beat him, poured bleach on him then put a noose around his neck.
Strangely, Mr. Smollett still had the rope around his neck when the police arrived to his apartment to take a report of the attack.
According to Rafer Weigel, the Nigerian brothers agreed to cooperate with police after the police threatened to charge them with battery.
“There are unconfirmed reports that Smollett paid the two brothers to perform the alleged scheme,” Rafer Weigel reported.

About a year, out in the western Oklahoma oil patch, with those white hillbilly looking dudes all wearing either OU or OSU hats.

Is it true that the hate letter sent to Fox (with the clipped-out words from a magazine) was traced to the Nigerians?
Couldn’t they technically be charged with conspiracy to commit a fraud?

You know Smollett will be seen as a hero in Hollyweird. This pervert puts himself in jeopardy to stop the racist Trump. Jussie’s plan to save his career is working out perfectly for him. No way he will get more than probation in Chicago.
Come on Jussie...call the Nigerian brothers and have them change their story. Come on, you can do witness tampering with the best of them.
Indeed but how could the Nigerian boys actually prove Juicy paid them to perform this “hate” crime? Did they have a detailed invoice and a credit card number from Juicy, or what?
I’m not a lawyer, but I think a “fraud” charge would have a necessary element of stealing something during the course of the crime. If they staged a fake crime and then collected reward money or something like that, then maybe a fraud charge would be warranted.
I unfortunately live 30 miles west of Chicago. The cops can come pick me up if they want. I fit the MAGA profile.
The police probably have records of dozens of phone calls between the Nigerian clowns and Juicy Smellitt in the period before and after the “attack.”
With the street camera footages the cops knew immediately that this was a hoax. They are just making this kid squirm

I knew the purchase would be caught on tape.
One time on Forensics Files, the female murderer was caught on tape buying the items AND was even dumb enough to scan her loyalty card in order to save less than a dollar.
The tape wasn’t of good quality, so her swiping the card really bolstered their case.
In order to duck the IRS, her bf had put HIS house in her name.
When she sensed a breakup was coming, she killed him in order to keep the house.
She was an accountant, so it wasn’t like she was poor.
However, this is what she told the police... Without him, I would be living in an apartment and driving a Honda.
She didn’t give a damn that the man had a young son who he adored.
