Ford added: “Our planet, the only home we’ve got, is suffering. This is the bare truth. This is our reality. It’s up to you and me to act now to face the greatest moral crisis of our time, to take action. It is time to make a difference.”

SHOW US THE WAY!

How about 50,000 dedicated Liberals do a “Jonestown” in public as a display of sacrifice in this cause. Words are cheap Harrison. Show us the way. Your almost 77 anyway.

Careful. He’s only a few years older than me and you don’t want to be attacked for ‘ageism’ do you? ;-)

I'm always reminded of Milton Friedman when a globalist or one world government topic comes up...which is all the time -

"Is it really true that political self-interest is nobler somehow than economic self-interest ? You know, I think you’re taking a lot of things for granted. Just tell me where in the world you find these angels who are going to organize society for us ? Well, I don’t even trust you to do that." Milton Friedman to Phil Donohue...a classic!

“Leftists can make this kind of unproven doom case forever, and it never loses its “moral authority.””

That’s the left’s MO on everything. Capture the fake moral high ground, use it to recruit millions of useful idiots, and then guilt trip everyone else with it.

You have to admit it’s worked rather well for them.

What we have to ask ourselves is how do we defeat it.

Horsecrap. The script said “parsecs” so his talking monkey said “parsecs.”

And it said “parsecs” because George Lucas knows diddly squat about astronomy.

In my locale (where we got the Rochester, NY channels for CBS, NBC, and ABC outlets), “In Search Of” was on Saturdays at 6:30pm, followed by Star Trek, on WHEC. And they even had Leonard Nimoy himself come in to do the TV spot promoting that lineup, lol. And in about 1980 or thereabouts, Star Trek TAS was on Sundays at 11:00am also on the Rochester CBS station.

It's up to you and me to act now to face the greatest moral crisis of our time, to take action.

And what action would that be, Mr. Ford? Seriously ... what can John Q. Public do to lower global temperatures?

So the Kessel run in 12 parsecs is indicitive of some badass hyperspace skills.

I heard that it wasn't like dustin' crops.

But I've never tried it, myself.

Trust me, Star Wars nerds noticed that immediately and have been arguing about it for 40 years.

So just WTF does Harrison Ford know about climatology and why does anyone take this f**kstick seriously? He makes millions pretending to be someone else, for God’s sake!

The 1860s/70s American buffalo hunters of the southern plains were the first true environmentalists. THink about how much warmer this planet would be if they did not eliminate all of those methane emissions. Men ahead of their time.

FWIW, in the original book it said "12 Standard Time-Parts"

Not sure about reprints.

A parsec is a distance!

Sure, and he found a short hyperspace warp that was only 12 parsecs long. That's how he did it so quick. Everyone else was taking the long way around.

He is the opposite of Gary Sinese.

He is an effing hypocrite. Shut up, Harrison.

“...12 parsecs ...”??

A parsec is a distance!

This has been joked about since 1977.

You’re just hearing it now?

4 degrees? There are high’s and low’s that swing 50 degrees.
