While I get the value a company coming to my city can offer, I seriously disagreed with giving a multi-billion dollar company billions in corporate welfare to pick this city.

If the city wants to give away money to help businesses grow here, it could provide tax and regulatory relief to the many mom-and-pop businesses that try to make a go of it. While that would still be corporate welfare, at least it would be to more needy businesses.

Better still, try to make this a great place to start a business for anyone and everyone without government giveaways and watch the jobs come pouring in.

NY could try some tax reform and corruption control first.

You get it!

Conservatives should know better than to support corporate welfare anywhere, anytime. It’s indistinguishable from “crony capitalism” — and provides fertile ground for corruption.

A lot of little things are just as good, and sometimes better, than one big thing.

This was a 10% discount on a projected $30 Billion in taxes. Now New York gets zero. The $3 Billion discount was money the state would not get anyway if they didn’t locate there.

My home town of Corpus Christi in-annexes land the local refineries buy to build on so they do not pay city taxes. Of course they employee directs, contractors and vendors to the tune of 50,000 people in a town of 350,000.
