This was a 10% discount on a projected $30 Billion in taxes. Now New York gets zero. The $3 Billion discount was money the state would not get anyway if they didn’t locate there.

My home town of Corpus Christi in-annexes land the local refineries buy to build on so they do not pay city taxes. Of course they employee directs, contractors and vendors to the tune of 50,000 people in a town of 350,000.

yes. understood.

the thing is that now NYC won’t get these jobs and....
they are of a type and payscale that could help some folks get off the dole

anyways, i never understood why Amazon even considered NY... it didn’t make much sense for them given the much more attractive (business-speaking) sites

we will see where they go now... smile smile smile...

I see the benefits. But as one who believes in limited government, if NYC and NYS can do without $3B in taxes over the next 10 years, then cut them for all businesses, not just those with big donors to PACs at their heads.

And don’t stop at $3B, either. But that’s a different thread.
