With the confirmation of William Barr as the 85th Attorney General of the United States, we now have an experienced hand leading the Department of Justice.
At his confirmation hearing, Barr vowed to focus on violent crime, enforce our immigration laws, and protect the right to vote. But our country faces many additional challenges today, many of which require the active involvement of the Attorney General. Barr, who also served in the post under President George H.W. Bush, is uniquely qualified to lead the Department at this time.
It would have been hard for Trump to pick someone with a more detailed knowledge of the inner workings of the Justice Department and Capitol Hill. Barr also previously served as the Deputy Attorney General (the number two slot) and the Assistant Attorney General of the Office of Legal Counsel. That office provides legal analysis and advice to the attorney general and the president.
In short, Barr doesnt need a months-long learning curve to understand how the department operates.
Barr made it clear in his confirmation hearing that he intends to ensure that the Justice Department, which includes the FBI, will enforce the law evenhandedly and with integrity. Barr promised that the departments conduct would be above and away from politics. Nothing, he added, could be more destructive of our system of government, of the rule of law, or the Department of Justice as an institution, than any toleration of political interference with the enforcement of the law.
So what should Barr focus on, and why?

Yep! The new boss is the same as the old boss.
He’ll probably be investigating Judicial Watch/etc.
Uh ... yeah ... That’s not gonna happen.
Wonder if Barr will bring back Sleepy Jeff as assistant AG??

Unless your last nane ends in -linton.
I’m willing to give him six months. Seems like we’ve been marching in place for so long... We, and he, knows what needs to be done. Give him till August to prove he’s got balls.
Looking forward to the day we no longer see, “Well, he/she got away with it because they’re a Democrat.”
Well said, I agree.
Re: Four things he should focus on right away
LOL!
William Barr is a Deep State RINO.
He will do absolutely nothing to restore the rule of law or stop the political corruption at DOJ, FBI, IRS, or the Intelligence agencies.
In 1991, all eight Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to confirm William Barr as Attorney General.
That was the same gang of Democrats who destroyed Robert Bork, and tried to destroy Clarence Thomas.
But they voted 8-0 to confirm William Barr!
I am holding my opinion of Barr due to the fact that Joe Digenova AND Victoria Tensing think he is the GREATEST thing that will happen to the Trump administration!! They both say unequivocally that he is going to DRAIN THE SWAMP at the DOJ!!! I am holding my opinion until I see for myself if he cleans the corruption out!!!
clinton and obama lead a coup against trump. They belong in prison or executed. That IS job one. But we will learn soon, Trump never had the intention of putting “criminal” Clintons in jail.
the led one also
The president is responsible for AG appointments
I KNOW that!
not obvious from your post. Sorry.
Yeah... more 5-D chess... more promises... more chew toys given to a starving dog.
A lot of hype.
I want to see action.
Thanks!

Obama must be thrilled——he said he would fundamentally transform us-——and it’s happening.
.
Barr will turn out to be so lame that we'll wish for the return of that firebrand Jeff Sessions.
Correct. He has a choice of either cleaning house in the DOJ and FBI, bringing charges against the plotters or making the Elf look really, really mean ...
