The US can't hold a candle to the Europeans in alpine skiing. We've never fielded a soccer team that's world class. And without Lance Armstrong, USA cycling is a continental effort at best.
There are just some things the Euros beat us at, hands down.

Yep. The Austrians, the Swiss, the Swedes and the Norwegians have dominated alpine skiing for years.
