“why would we leave US soil on the mexico side of the wall?”

That’s a fine question.

Looking on Google Earth the property they >> might << lose access to is in the flood plain of the Rio Grande.

On Google Earth you can’t tell exactly where the wall/fence is supposed to go so it’s not really all that clear what the complaint it.

Kind of hard to maintain your fence if you have to ask a foreign governments permission to enter their country to work on it, no?

To maintain it. If it was directly on the border, Mexico certainly wouldn't let us have access to it for fixing or maintenance work.

US territory will be on the Southern side of the wall because you can’t build a permanent barrier on a river bank.

We’re not. There are electronically
controlled gates planned for those
on the butterfly ranch. They can access
any portion of their property. There
is going to be a 150’ buffer zone that
will be clear of brush and trees. This
is what the butterfly ranchers are most
concerned about. They may have to fly
in sustenance for the herd.
