Trump job approval up 7 points after shutdown: Gallup
MSN / The Hill ^ | February 13, 2019

President Trump's approval rating rose 7 percentage points after the end of the recent 35-day partial government shutdown, a Gallup poll released early Wednesday showed.

The survey found that the president's approval rating jumped from 37 percent in mid-January during the heart of the shutdown to 44 percent in early February after he agreed to reopen the government.

The increase is largely attributable to more positive remarks among independents, pollsters found. That group's approval of Trump rose 6 percentage points from the January poll to the February poll, Gallup said.

This can’t be. I was assured by the media, who would never lie to us, that the shutdown would imperil his presidency.

“Results for this Gallup poll are based on telephone interviews conducted Feb. 1-10, 2019, with a random sample of 1,016 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. For results based on the total sample of national adults, the margin of sampling error is ±4 percentage points at the 95% confidence level. All reported margins of sampling error include computed design effects for weighting.

Each sample of national adults includes a minimum quota of 70% cellphone respondents and 30% landline respondents, with additional minimum quotas by time zone within region. Landline and cellular telephone numbers are selected using random-digit-dial methods.”

Adults, 18 and over.

They didn’t screen for citizenship, voter registration or likely voter.

Add 10 points for a likely voter screen.

POTUS is riding high right now.

Maybe the shutdown forced federal workers to look at jobs in the private sector and they found great dream jobs.
