Hotter summers. Colder winters. Mega-storms and massive droughts.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change paints a grim picture of how global life will change in the 21st century as a result of human-caused climate change.
This week, California lawmakers drafted an Assembly Joint Resolution to support the Green New Deal to battle global warming now being considered in Congress.
Assemblyman Todd Gloria, D-San Diego, is the primary sponsor of AJR 7.
Glorias AJR 7 cites Californias year-round wildfire season - the Thomas Fire was a record-breaker in 2017, the Mendocino-Complex Fire shattered that record in 2018 - as one example of the way human-caused climate change is already harming the state.
The science is clear: unless we take immediate and bold action, the safe and clean future we envision for our children and grandchildren will not exist. Its time the White House gets serious about climate change. Its time America goes beyond business as usual. Its time for a Green New Deal, Gloria said in a statement.

Like the Yellowstone caldron and Solar variations have nothing to do with the weather. I really wonder what they will say if Yellowstone blows. IT WAS CAUSED BY CLIMATE CHANGE!!!! Any volcano that blows emits millions or billions more CO2 than the US does in a hundred years. Give or take. So tired. :<(((
California lawmakers...California, you mean that place where the streets are lined with s**t?
The Carbon Cabal has got through to Governor Newsom and made him fall in line to their tune. Newsom has back tracked on his declaration that high speed rail is dead in his state. The latest is his office says he is fully committed to building a high-speed rail line between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
California lawmakers nothing more to read move along.
Must be why they cancelled their high speed Train scheme:-)
They act as though if we do this it’ll save the day. Yeah Ok - we’re the #1 problem nation so if we get our act together the climate change issue is resolved - except we’re not #1.
Let’s talk about China, India, and the rest of the world - and that none of them are complying with what they signed up for in the PCA. Our CO2 emissions are going down - let’s see the rest of the world do better before we destroy ourselves!
This is excellent news. For the first time in this entire debate, the AGW folks have finally built a model that shows definitively how CO2, at the very small percentage levels that actually exist in the atmosphere, can have such an outsized impact on temperature (more than solar activity), weather patterns (more than water vapor, geothermal warming of the seas, and solar activity) and even earthquakes (more that tectonics).
I can’t WAIT to review the science!!
Finally!!!
Anybody got a link to the science?
Support it?? Hell, CA, pass your OWN version...N-O-W. Make it immediately in effect for *all* govt and Hollywood, so how well it works for a MIN. of, say, 5 yrs.
The science is indeed clear: Nuclear power emits no CO2, and a coal-fired power plant in China emits as much CO2 as the same plant would emit anywhere in America.Liberals" are indifferent to the construction of coal-fired power plants in China (which is the largest CO2-emitter nation), but as hostile to nuclear power in America as they are to coal-fired power in America.
The conclusion is that liberals are hostile to economical and reliable electric power plants in America.
Its science.
Not stupid just acting in bad faith! They are willing to take a dive to the operational arm of the Communist Party USA than do anything to allow the conservative base of the party chart the course of the party (the only people who hate the GOP base more than the DNC are the Republican party establishment)
