So they will now just rip down the construction already done on this IDIOTIC project!!!
I’m in California. The rest of the country doesn’t quite realize how HUGE this is. Not yet.
So long as we know it here.
This might be Pelosi’s way of warning AOC to keep all that Green Sh** to yourself, at least until after 2020!
I cannot wait to confront a co-worker with this information
tomorrow! I am ready to GLOAT!!
It was never really going to go from LA to SF, but would go through the Central Valley so the illegal aliens can get around.
He didn’t cancel that part of it, Bakersfield to, I think, Merced.
Now if Trump has learned anything from the Sicilians he met in the NYC construction business he would know how to use this opportunity. His Democratic enemies in California were heavily involved in this project. Trump should order an immediate forensic accounting audit of the $2.5 billion Federal “subsidy” given to this “project”. He’ll snare most of the Democratic Party leadership and put them in prison.
“California will spend $1.6 billion so they do not have to return $3.5 billion to the federal government.”
Bad governance as its worst. Pi$$ away $1.6billion in state money in order to pi$$ away #/5 billion of federal money?
It's criminal!

If by some miracle Republican John Cox was Elected instead of Newscum and he cancelled this White Elephant, the Liberals would be going ballistic and there would be riots in the streets.
Since Newscum did it, crickets. He is one of their own.
From that same article:
How Can They Keep the $7.5 Billion Bond Money?
There are legal issues around the $7.5 billion Proposition 1A bond measure.
The bond measure had legal requirements:
(1) Can the train travel from Los Angeles (Union Station) to San Francisco (Transbay Terminal) in two hours and 40 minutes?
(2) Will the train require an operational subsidy?
(3) Does the new blended system approach meet the definition of high-speed rail in Proposition 1A?
The 110 or 120-mile segment will not allow any train to travel from Los Angeles to San Francisco in two hours and 40 minutes. There is no way anything can operate on that line without an operational subsidy.
Apparently, those who were tagged to do well in this deal already have theirs, so, no reason to continue.
I want to know about the $3 billion Gavin is refusing to give back.
A bullet train between Bakersfield and Mercedtwo major population centers. What kind of ridership are they expecting on that?
“Mongo only Pawn in Game of Life”
Yes, immediate, thorough, and transparent. One suspects that there might be some felonies thereabouts.
Cowboys and Mexican laborers?
How about rebuilding that nightmare RT 99 rather than pi$$ing the remaining money away on this boondoggle?
Luckily, Obama is not still president, otherwise, he would have come to the rescue and asked congress/Pelosi to fund the entire project, as part of AOC’s plan to ‘rescue the planet’.
Cheap central valley labor for the future amazon distribution center in Bakersfield?
